ok my buddy is working on this 95 vmax 600 it has good spark its getting fuel mabey too much & the compression is good .checked reeds changed plugs always wet when pulled put new stator .it just wont fire it burps & farts but wont fire any thoughts would be appreciated. :beer;:beer;

could be an assortment of things. try the obvious. carbs clean? needle and seat good?this isnt a smart carb one is it? check your fuel lines for cracks or deteriation. if it has sat for a long period crank seal? usually the pto side. if the seal is bad you loose the vacuum to draw fuel from the pump to the carbs. good luck.

This is actually my old machine and have been helping out trying to get it to run.So far Carbs cleaned,reeds checked,stator replaced,coil replaced?LOTS of spark and lots of fuel getting to the cylinders just won`t run.Would a crank seal stop it from even starting?

try starting by priming through the cylinder. if it fires, feather the throttle and ty to keep it going.use the choke off and on, half works best. usually if it will fire and you can keep it above 3000 rpm, it will overcome the seal. if you can keep it going, spray some carb cleaner behind the clutch, if it revs, the seal is bad. keep me posted.

just a thought but is the tors still hooked up? I had simmilar trouble with my uncles sled until I unpluged the tors wires and just hooked them together. Now I also have a question about that same machine, what is the easy way to change the sliders? I cant seem to get them through the holes in the track.

if the track has been changed, pick a track window and alter it so the hifax will come through. one side only. rotate track 180, pick onother window and do the same. just superstitious, but i dont like to enlarge the same side.

Pull the plugs and pull it over 10 ten times or so with the plugs out and kill switch off( you don't want a spark lighting your sled on fire) and see if there is much fuel that comes out the spark plug hole.Sometimes what would happen is that the float valve would stick and rain a crap load of fuel into the base,and just when you think there is no fuel in it,more will come out,fooling you into believing that there is some thing else wrong and all it is, is flooding.
