Solid tow bar?

Has anyone seen or made a solid towing bar for sleds? We had to use two sleds to tow one out yesterday to slow it down. We had four sleds, and three riders, so there was no one on towed sled, and it had broken bars. I'm thinking a solid 6 foot pipe would be awsome to control towed sled. A universal mounting bracket so you can attach to any bumber. I'm trying to figure out a telescoping design, so its easy to carry around. Let me know if anyone has made or seen one. Tim.

we just loop the rope throught the ski right to the bumper so there is no slack. who wants to carry around a 6' piece of pipe when theyre riding

Check out Snobunje's website, they have a sled towing kit that does not require a rider on the sled being towed and will not hit the front sled.

hey

I'm trying to figure out a way to tow a sled down steep inclines and up them without a rider, and maintain control of sled. A rope works great, but the sled bounces all over, and dosen't stay upright to well with no rider on it. It would most likely be something you leave in the truck until you need it. Skinny trails, uphills, down hills, drop offs on either side of trail, thats what I'm looking to make easier to do. A solid bar the articulates and attaches to both sleds keep sled upright and right behind you would be the way to go.

huh

I'm trying to make it easier!! Pull a sled with no rider down a steep trail and not let it hit you, and keep it on the trail with a strap or rope, dosen't work to well. Guess people don't think out of the box anymore.

something you might try..a peice of pvc plastic with a rope threaded thru it..hooks on each end....but I agree, put sleds close togeather and tie the ski tips as close as you can to the rear bumper..or turn the towed sled around backwards and sit the track right on the back of the towing sled, undo the rear torsion springs and strap it by the rails...tie the ski's straight on the towed sled...after turning them around backwards.....we have done that and it works pretty good..at my cabin in eureka I have a boggin tow sled I cut the back wall out of..towed sled goes into it backwards, gets strapped in and hook the hitch to the tow sled..by far easiest way for a long pull..........

you make it sound like your not on the same page here. the ski tied directly to the bumper. pull up and down steep hills the sled goes where the front sled does as if they are one no rider needed its not going anywhere you dont go on the tow sled
