SoCoCrew rides....again

old skool- my new duramax hits the road on sat morn.....still got a spot in the trailer if your in.

What curse....My sled runs great........

Big storms and high winds all weekend.....

Been fighting to ride alot all season but it seems like the ride is fighting me

Going to have to wave off the weekend and try to hit the fresh during the week

Those who decide to brave the storm, be safe and have fun

Wise move, the wind is unbelievable today. I had to call my dad to help me, I lost a bunch of shingles overnight. Nothing like trying to reshingle with a fuggin cast when it's cold and blowing like a $100 whore.

Off msn,

As the storm moved east, whiteout conditions and up to 4 feet of snow were forecast in the Colorado mountains. High wind overturned a tractor-trailer rig in Colorado Springs, briefly closing Interstate 25. Later, multiple accidents closed eastbound I-70 just east of Vail.

Ya I was stuck in the traffic!!!:(

Bull, it doesn't snow in WP anymore!! Haven't you noticed??

Are any of you riding south fork area thur, fri, sat, the 10-12. Would be interested in hooking up to learn the area, I have ridden the area a few times but do not recognize your sweet photos. Heading down from Denver

You guys be careful. Avy danger is going to be extremely high and there is more snow in the forecast. Use extreme caution and if anything is questionable, stay away! Have fun in our champagne!

Couple of pics from the the weekend ride...more to come with vid and with the story of the whole misadventure!?!

Glad to hear that you guys are back safe, it's been an ugly weekend elsewhere. Bring on the pics Brandon, dying to see them.

I was really impressed by everyone in the crew this weekend. We really did stick to the trees, away from all the big hills and bowls that we love sooo much. Hard to pass up the beautifully untracked hills, but we all thought it wiser to wait for things to settle.

Everyone also rode one at a time even on the mildest of slopes. We always gathered on a high spot away from any runout and we were even conscious of always having the sleds pointing downhill and ready to go.

That being said we did not see any signs of avy the entire 3 days. The snow did seems stable and we even undercut with sidehilling some small but steep slopes to see if we could see any signs of weakness. Nothing to indicate the potential for slides except for all the snowfall over the past week and the amount of windloaded snow. We still stayed off the hills though!

So we started out putzing around the house Fri morn...Treeline busted some sweet lines on little pink thru the neighborhood

We then loaded up and headed out to the "spot"

By the time we got all five of us together(treeline, boondock, kyelkaholic, bull, tudizzle)and packed down for our three days in the backcountry it was starting to get dark. I would say we left the trailhead about 5pm. The 20 mile trail was mostly uncut and well drifted from the 80 inches we had gotten in the last week.

Ever wonder what it looks like packing in at nite?

needless to say it was slow going and we did not make it to the "spot" until well after 10:30pm. At least if we didn't make it we had 60gallons of fuel, 2 gallons of chili, sleeping bags, lots of extra cloths and a loaded handgun! Talk about survival gear!

woke up early to bluebird conditions and started riding the crud out-o-dem hills

everything was going smooth until I lost my sled on the top of a hill and I ghost rode my sled 300 yards into a grove of large trees. Need to go buy a lottery ticket because at just the last moment before my sled slammed into a tree it jumped a foot to the left and just hit some braches. Not even a scratch! Sled never even stopped running or even got stuck, totally sweet!

We found out we had a tree hugger in the group when treeline decided to bearhug a tree with his sled

he got lucky too, as the sled hit pretty solid and even and there was no damage. Although it took a good hour to get the sled out we continued on riding until it was time too load back up and call it a weekend.

Good Times!!! I have some vid to download and I will post it up later today

Wow what a great weekend!!! Could of used a little more riding each day but we still put on some miles and learned a lot about night riding and a few other things lol

Friday night was a bit ruff!!! 5 hours to go 18 miles sucked big time but we made it and didn't have to stay in the sticks.

We did stay off the big hills.... Was tuff but would rather ride another weekend for sure than risk my life or the lifes of my fellow riders. Weather couldn't of been better!!

Will add a few pics and maybe a video or two if Dizzle doesn't beat me as he saved everything from my camera also

Bull have any pictures?

Again great ride as always!! Can't wait to hit it again:D
