So what's an 06 Summit 1000 weigh?

I've searched all the key words I can think of here and I haven't found it yet, so can anyone help a brother out?

My buddy is looking at buying an 06 Summit X 1000 162 and we were wondering what it weighs compared to my Summit X 800 151.

Anyone here know the weight difference?
Thanks for yur help!
RR

2006 159X 565 (wet)

from T/A's weights post a while back.

Then T/A is crazy--Doo did not build a 1000X 159 --any year.

They built a 159 800X extreme though--but thst weight would be wrong for a 800.

The weight sounds right at 550 dry. The motor is 40 lbs heavier alone.

H20SKE...

wow I was just reading here....

the 05 RT1000 is 529lbs dry...and that is a 162 track, mine is a 151...so im even a bit lighter.....damn.....and I didnt know the 06 was heavier.....jesus....

thats a good thing....

Ya had an 05. 539 dry weight, which actually was about 580. The big announcement for 06 was "lost 20 lbs" now only 567 lbs. Sounds like everyone at BRP failed math in a bad way. This is just one of many reasons I no longer buy Doo products. I do however still have an 07 800 X for a spare.

k fixed the one above... the TA weight is an 800, not the fatty RT...

should have been obvious. if the 1k is 550 dry, its not goin to be 15 lbs heavier wet! :p

none the less, sorry for confusion.

Yes the 05 was a heavy pig 162 X was 579lbs on a certified scale. Did not have on the scale full so I don't know wet weight.
For roughly $1500 you could take off near 50 pounds.
I have 96 lbs taken off of mine and she's fun to ride.

These are right out of the crate weights

05.5 151" 599lbs

06 151" 575lbs

Just went to the weight scales by my house here where all the big truckers go and weight in...took my sled off the trailer and WOW....

I have about 40-50 lbs in lightening....not sure the exact amount and my sled full of fuel and all liquids weights a total of 251 Kg's...which is what just over 550lbs....

so there you have it...and my sled is an 05.5 RT1000 with a 144 track and challenger lite track...(was a 151)

Stiff....

Im going by there again tomorrow I will take a picture cause I didnt have my camera with me....

That battery is also something that could come off and save you alot of weight, especially compared to a taillight. I dont think anyone has any business riding a 1K if they cant pull start the sled.

not sure how accurate a scale designed to weigh axle weights at 20,000 -30,000lbs is gonna be at 550 lbs

Exactly! I am in the scale biz. and at best truck scales read in 20lb increments. Commercial truck scales are famous for being off +/- 5% and are only inspected every 6 months. You'd do better at the feed store scales.

Well I talked to a few of my friends that are DOT's (Department of Transportation) and they told me that these scales are pretty much 99% accurate. Yes there is the odd time they are out but when that happens they are fixed right away....one guy said and I quote "you think these scales would be out?...Then we would have evey trucker trying to fight their tickets"

which makes sense dont you think...

anyway ill try to take pics tomorrow and see...

also this is in Kilograms not lbs and they go to the kilogram not in 20lbs increments...so I dont think you know much about your biz...

Well just want to say....I was wrong on the weight of my RT... :(
When I went out this morning I had almost no Fuel in it...so when I weighed it last there was no fuel...with pretty much no fuel it is 251kgs....

I weighed it today and it was 280 full of all fluids...even oil...I made sure...
So WOW that is heavy...haha...617lbs wet.....

and like I said I have about 40-50 lbs off the sled....so I think anyway...

anyway there you guys have it....The RT is heavy....still love the torque tho...and the dry weight I thought has got to be wrong....

I also took a picture of the weight....

here is my sled on the scale...

here is the weight....OUCH..

img1003kb3.jpg

sry if hard to read....I couldnt zoom in any more....

Sry forgot to mention....I weighed myself at home and im 212lbs then on the scale when i was on my sled it said 380kgs...so that would mean im 100kgs....so the scale is only out by about 5-10lbs....

Not a whole lot...

Stiff
