So mad words can't explain.

Long story short:

Sent my 09 Cat/boss seat in two months ago for a new cover under warranty. Talked to them half a dozen times between now and then, and was sure to mention that I had ZERO interest in one of their "new" style covers or seats.

What shows up today? One of those crappy new seats.

Seven external zippers to freeze up and rattle. A bunch more of that cloth fabric on the sides that ice and snow stick to, and noticeably heavier than my other seat!

I'm so damn mad right now. I want MY seat back.

I had a similar experience like that recently, and still trying to get my "old" product back from the company. pisses me off everyday I talk to them. There response, "unfortuanly your piece was thrown away, but was replaced with a new product at no charge".
 
This is serious BS. I'm so damn bent right now.

This thing looks totally gay, and is noticeably heavier than my other seat.
Start of business tomorrow I'm tearing into somebody's a**.
 
I am sure you are "Ripped" about this. They did the same to me two years ago with the seat on my old mod. I talked to them before sending it and when they got it said "it couldnt be fixed" and said they had an extra seat they would send me of one of their flat tops. I got it and hated how hard the foam was and it was to high. I ended up putting my stock seat back on.... Try to stay calm when you call and explain what it is that you want from them. Good luck
 
I'm going to because I know they have me bent over here. But damn it this it BS.
I talked to them a half dozen times on the phone and they knew I didn't like the new seat.
They offered to "upgrade" me to the new cover for $100 because they said it was retro-fittable to my seat. I said no, I love my seat and don't like the new style at all.

My seat just needed a new cover and they had two months to do it!
 
Honestly, be thankful you got anything. My cover went to **** shortly after I bought my seat, they told me to pound sand. That's why they'll never get another dollar from me.
 
Ordinarily I would consider that to be above and beyond service. However the quality of this seat sucks compared to the other one, and it is heavier.

Bottom line, I told them I didn't want the new style seat and they have all my contact info. They could have contacted me and explained that they planned to do this.

I really really love my other seat.
 
Boss has always sucked......

I'd tell them you want your old one back, have them pay for the shipping for sending the new one back. Better yet, if you get your old one back keep the new one too! (just kidding). If you ever get your old one back take it to a good sewing shop that does bike seats. I've had a Boss seat on my 1M for 5 yrs and its light (not that much lighter then stock tho), feels good, but I got a small tear in it and I'll never send it back to them for repair (I 'bandaided it with clear vinyl tape). Good Luck!

How is your replacement working out? They build Boss seats not far from here. To bad it has not worked out to your satisfaction. They seem to be to be a good group of guys.
 
Not to mention the new style seats dont fit worth a chit on crossfires.......
 
The fit is pretty poor compared to my other one. Especially around the tank.
It also seems to be about 2" shorter in overall length too.
With the other seat I could scoot all the way back while holding the bars and all my *** was still on the seat. With this one I've got about 2" of cheek hanging off.
Also notices that there is much more cordura on this one (which ice loves to stick to).

It's covered in noisy zippers that are waiting to fill with ice, heavier, and holds 4 less beers than my other one... Not impressed.



Now the good news.
I called and raised hell, and they told me to use it as a loaner and they will make a new cover for mine and send it back to me with a shipping voucher to return the gimp seat on their dime.
That's very decent of them.
 
Welcome to the reality of boss seats, I am a dealer and don't get any better service. Try being the middle man in the mix and relaying the bull s*** excuses to your customers that you truley care about. I have heard all the crap stories. Great product, unbelievable poor customer service and unbusiness like conduct.
 
Save your money! I had one ride on the "new" Boss seat and the water bottle pockets are broken already. The material is fraying in the same place and the zippers are cheap junk. These things are not the boss of old. I had 4 years on my other boss and it still looks great. Someone told be thay are mass producing these things in china, that is why they are cheaper.
