Some guys were there for tickets that the forest service gave them for not having their registrations with them. They had the stickers on though. The fine was $75. Moral of the story is make sure to carry the card also.

I was there for a careless driving charge, which I got dismissed BTW. :D

How did you get charged with careless driving? Where were you?

I was going on the Academy to go golfing with my dad and I didn't have my current registration with me. I had to make a U turn to leave and they didn't like the squealing that my jeep's tires made as I did the U turn. When I came back they wrote me for careless and not having proof of insurance. First I was pissed for the insurance deal as the guy didn't say anything about that the first time I gave them my info. Then they still wrote the ticket for careless even after explaining to them that with a detroit locker in the rear that the tires are GOING to squeal when accelerating in a u turn. ****in azzholes made me miss my tee time!

Haha! Yeah, the Cops sure don't like the spool in the back of the street/strip car around here!

come to think of it.....they really don't like when you stage and launch the street lights off transbrake and the first stage of nitrous either!:face-icon-small-hap

Too much fun in my buddies car.....

Yeah, I know what you mean. I wasn't completely innocent of the charges, I just got them dismissed. :D My temper does tend to get me in a little trouble now and then.

been there.

but as for the registration, I have a buddie out here that gets away with not even running a sticker, when they check him he starts ripping there azz and asks where all the motorized offroad trails are, and why the spent $150,000.00 on a horse trail and yet they don't pay for registration. Its great.

we get checked for stickers quite often where we ride, only had a couple say anything about having the actual registration handy. i usually carry mine in the back pack but if not you can usually play dumb and say you didnt know your supposed to have the papers and they'll let you go.

i got a careless driving ticket once also, it was for a little more than just "turning around" though. i still dont know how we missed that cop in the pre-race traffic check, although he was talented and managed to pull us both over at the same time.

State Parks checks everybody on Monte Cristo. I've seen them ticket sleds that are sitting on a trailer, with no intention of comming off. If they're not registered, you can't have them with you. They'll nab ya for sure...

That is a load of BS. What if you had just bought the sled from a guy and since the USFS office isn't open on weekends you couldn't get it registered.

I would have gone to court and politely told them to shove it.

LOL:D

Don't want to try it out here. We got wrote up for a race sled that didn't come out of the enclosed trailer.

Most cops will right bs ticket to people out of the area because its not worth going to court, I've had cops pull bs like this and when they do, just pull out a piece of paper (or better yet ask them for a piece of paper and a pen) and ask them to right there name, badge number and the name and number of there superior officer on it. If they say no, go on to tell them it is public information and it is against the law to withhold it. It really helps if you have a camera and take a picture of them for no reason at all. I have only done this when it was bs or being harassed and I've never got a ticket after doing it. in fact one of them just up and left.

You must have total genitalia for cops out there. That ticket would never fly if taken to court. You don't need to have a license or registration for anything that is being transported on a trailer, enclosed or not. When you see that the snow pigs are in the area, close your doors. Your trailer is private property and a warrant is needed to legally look inside. Federal cops or local bacon. You folks got screwed and the pigs knew it. Stand up for your rights, don't let the badge and gun scare you, especially since you aren't breaking the law!

Cops like that are bullies and they prey on those who won't get in their face. You can argue with a cop without them feeling threatened. document everything that was said and make sure that there are peeps standing there, don't let them pull you away for a "private" conversation. Witnesses are a weapon, utilize it. Good luck in the future.

FYI, my wife is a cop and so is one of my good friends so I know how things are done and which cops are guilty of pressuring the unknowing.
