Chitty events man,
Sure hope your dogs are okay. To some they are pets but to most they are Family.
Also hope they catch the FU(k!n A$$hole who caused this crazy sequence of carnage.

AAhh Crap! Just read your last post. So sorry for your loss.

sorry to hear about that :(

If you find out who did it, kidnap them and make them brush their teeth with that crap ...

Very sorry to hear of your loss!! :brokenheart: I was hoping I'd read on to find a better outcome. :face-icon-small-sad

:( I didnt think he would make it. Find the brand then start your research. May be hard to locate a brand, but worth proding around. The guy is looking up to over a year in prison.

Having the stuff without a permit, then using it carelessly is going to cost the guy. But do as much as you can.

Sorry to hear about the loss :(

The DOW found another sick bird, don't know where or if it's even related. The vet took cross-sections of the bowel, kidney, liver, and stomach contents. We were going to have to pay to have it analyzed, but the DOW that's heading the investigation called the vet and picked up the samples and will turn them in for the investigaion so we won't have to deal with it. I told him I'd help in anyway I could (time, grunt work ect...). Called the sale barn to have them keep an eye out for open heffers and I think the DOW might be doing some investigaions on the local farms/ranches to check for open heffers that have aborted. Since we have the calf (it's an Angus - that narrows it down hahaha :D), I had thought about the CSI stuff and tying it together with DNA, just didn't figure they'd pony up the $ and time, but it sounds like they might head that way (I'm sure for the eagle, and the illegal use of the chemical - not just for our pup :D ). Just a waste of a damn good dog. He laid on my Carhartt coat on the trailer when he was about 6mo every day when I built my mod sled. I didn't even want the dog in the first place, and I told my wife I'd trade her for him. She agreed she'd trade me too! :face-icon-small-win Nate, if I need some help with the chemical, I'll let ya know if that's ok.

Well bru thats a crap deal :(

To help you hint along the search, when an animal has been injected with 1080, it decomposes very akwardly. I cannot put it into words. Usually the stomach linings are gone, teeth will fall out. There are alot of clues to 1080. You cannot smell it, thats what makes it such a good killer.

Can you get any photos?? I wont ask for you to post pictures of a decomposing calf on the forum  how un-cooth that would be.

Ive contacted a family member who's the general manager for Wyoming Game&Fish and he'd like to see photo's of the carcass. He's been doing cases like this for 3.5 decades and is pretty keen on it. Find out what the regulations are on using poisions in your state. I'm gonna bet 1080 isnt allowed, and at this point am about 90% sure thats what the culprit used. The symptoms are just too simliar to be anything but 1080, even the scenario.

Anyways, keep me updated on the investigation. Because im just about as curious now as you are.

:brokenheart: sorry bro...that really sucks....I came on tonight hoping for some good news. My thoughts are with you.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the support. Still pretty tore up about it. The other dog just lays by our back door. She thinks he's still inside...:(

Nate, I'll get a hold of the DOW guy and see about some pics. When I blew through you're post late last night, I though you wanted pics of my pup. Was going to have to respectfully decline  My father-in-law said all that was left was from about the rib cage up. That might help with the teeth thing, but I don't know if stomach was still there. Anyway, thanks for the help. Now it's just a waiting game.
