I managed to submerge my sled in water, after i pulled it out and cleaned out the intake and pulled the plugs and added oil to the cylinders and pulled it over a bunch of times to get all the water out, i managed to get it running and rode it for 4 more days, my question is do you think i should pull the head off and look at the inside or is the damage done if any, do you think its all dry up after i rode it for 4 days, im really on the fence to pull it all apart.

As long as the water was not saltwater or dirty I would run it but be on the look out for unusual noises and or vibration. I would also change all fuel and oil filters and check same tanks for water. I would also clean out all electrical connections and apply dielectric grease. Check chain case to see if water got inside. Seat will also retail water will need to bring in side place on end so that water will drain out may take a couple of days.

mix 100;1 for couple of tanks and run it hard.need to get all the moisture out of the crank bearings,or when you park it for while it WILL seize up.

I actually did this last spring, i put it into a deep hole that submerged the engine, we pulled it out and the engine was jammed full of water cause it ran for a few seconds under water and then i hit the kill switch. once we pulled it out you couldnt even move the rope and we flipped it over and pulled the plugs and emptied the motor out poured some oil into and pulled it over a few times and then tried starting it and it fired rightup. Once we got back to the trailer we pulled it all apart and clean and flush out all the crap that was in it, the fuel tank and chaincase were never under water. I ran another 3 tanks or so through it last year then put it away fro the summer and now im just wondering about it.

did you prep the engine for storage? Fog it or fill it with oil or anything?

If not, there is a good chance your crank bearings could have rust on them.

little oil in the cylinders, but i dont think that will help, it would be just oil and water now wouldnt it?

don;t worry...you are fine if you ran it for four days and three tanks after the fact..any and all moisture is long gone from your crankcase from the mishap..even if you didn;t fog the motor going into storage it is no differant then any other year you never fogged your motor..these pigs run so oil rich most times anyway they are getting fogged every second they are running...soooooo relax...!!!

Don't worry about it, if you ran it that much after submersion. We have sank several, as long as it got ran to get rid of all the moisture you will be fine.

change the gear lube, and just grease all the grease zirks and ride it.i did the same thing to a brand new poo 700 in 2003.had 200 miles on it and was submerged for 3 hours, after draining the water it started in 1 pull drove it like i stole it the rest of the weekend.. my bud still has that sled today, and it has 10000 miles on it, and the moter has never been apart.
