Just returned home from 4wheeler trip to snowys and the forest service is very busy closing off the side roads off of roads 338( centennial to cinnabar park)511,512,542,(albany over to north platte river or pickaroon campground)these are just some of the areas we noticed, they are using a dozer to build a series of berms at the entrance to these roads, these berms are designed to keep 4wheelers& snowmobiles out. i haved tried to call laramie district ranger Larry Sandovol 307 745 2300 but he seems to have better things to do than talk to me,all i get is his voice mail even though his sectretary says he is in his office.does anyone on here know what is going on out there? thanks, crossfireman.

that's not good, we were just camping in that area last weekend
i've tried calling the rangers may times and get nothing but machine and no call back either

Did you see a few of these signs? They have been doing it all summer, I thought it was just for the ATVs though, not for sleds.

Found this today too:

"Action Strategies: Develop a plan to improve gas tax structure for revenue in Trails Program(June 2009). Pursue an additional $600,000 or more per year in state snowmobile gas tax distributions by the 2009-2010 winter season to provide additional grooming on high-use trails and to provide snowmobile trail grooming on trails that are currently ungroomed. Do this by going through the legislative process. Address the “over the top” scenario- whereas a rental
sled that fuels in another location-this fuel is not recorded. The commercial operators record fuel at their home base and not other facilities. Request WYDOT disperse fuel tax twice a year (asthey have in the past)"

lot of these signs also, now add about 50 berms about 6 feet high and at least 300 feet up the road. ya we can go around these in winter but this is another step in kicking us out of their forest.(i did'nt think to take a pic of them either).i did talk to a ranger at pickaroon and asked him why, his answer to closing the roads was it is for our own safety, all the dead beatle trees are starting to fall overand it is not safe to be on these roads. yes he did say that!

i also asked this ranger what they plan to do when a fire breaks out and you have all these access roads closed to the firefighters. his response was(we are working on that problem).i don"t remember his name, but he is just out of college.

Funny...........I just recently had dinner with the owner of the company that oversees the firebombers all around the west and he claims that Wyoming is the only state that doesn't have a coordinated plan of attack in place for fire fighting.

 this really pisses me off!!!!! WHY:confused:

Save the forest and keep us out, but they are in there with dozers pushing dirt around ect. Sounds like par for the course with govt.

This is the type of **** that happens with the political football has had to be punted by the home team :(

What this amounts to is now that obama is in office, frudenthal can afford to give his blessing to **** like this to make all the liberal whack jobs in jackson and at UW happy without any reprecussions...

Not sure, the signs do say " no motorized vehicles." I always wondered what they would do if "someone" took a bobcat and leveled the roads again?? Not me, just a unknown individual.

Most of the signs on side roads that are gated off say No Motorized Vehicles. It lists Jeeps, Motorcycles and ATV's.
However
Allowed it lists Horses, Hikers and snowmobiles
Besides, I would just ride it anyway.

I love the government, I can't get enough of it. I'm hoping that someday they will have complete control over my life, and I won't have to make any decisions.

I love stong-handed, over-powering, controlling, manuipulating, power hunger, arrogant government. It makes me feel so good inside.

i have contacted SAWS and BlueRibbon Coalition to see if they know about this bullcrap since nobody at the ranger office will take my calls.
