Hey guys we are going on a trip Jan 4-8 and we are not sure where to go. What type of riding is in togwotte and where do we stay and unload. We are coming from Herreid,SD. Is the snow good in both of these areas. Please give any info on both places where to stay and all the info we need. Also wondering what the elevations of these places are to get our sleds set up Thanks

Togwotee Mountain Lodge is very convenient and sled friendly. We stayed there for a few nights a couple weeks ago. I'm definitely going back!

Elevation there was in the upper 7k's to the mid 9k's. Most done between 8200 and 9400. Tons of riding, lots of space, BRING A GPS!!! and watch for avalanches.

togwotee has tons of meadows that just come one after another. They also have lots of hills that you can climb but like what was said before watch for avalanches. We have never stayed at togwotee mountain lodge but have been there and it looks top notch. We've always stayed at lava mountain resort and the super 8 in dubois

Togwotee

Hey guys thanks for the info. We are not sure if we want to go to cooke city, snowy range or togwotee. I have been to all except togwotee. Does any one have any pics from togwotee from this year. We went to cooke city over thanksgiving day weekend and had a blast but would like to go to some place new but we want to make sure the snow is good and has our type of riding. Is the snow depth as good as cooke city right now??? Thanks guys

We generally stay in Dubios and trailer up to Tiehack parking lot (about 15-20 minutes from town).

Togwotee mountain lodge is a nice place but EVERYONE goes there to unload and ride. They have the lodge there, one back behind it plus public parking across from the lodge.
You can shave an hour off the drive by going to Dubois.
