snowmobilers missing out of grizzly creek

My family and I extend our deepest sympathy and prayers to the family.

Not enough praise can be given to the SAR crew.

True hero's

There are hero's here. A few friends that risk life and limb. The boys were found. Sad to say, one didn't make it. A small number of riders that made it to the the sight, found them and saved a life. There are not a hand full of men that could have accomplished this rescue. TRUE hero's. There isn't to much we can do for the family. The father, Gary, was there first to his sons, with so much help. Everybody added small things to make this possible.

Those "heroes" you mention happen to be the Felker's along with many others who took the time and huge efforts to make this rescue happen.

Lynn is the owner of Felker motorsports and was with the father breaking trail to get in there. His dedication as not only a dealer, but as a friend and hero are second to none.

Would your dealer come out and look for you? I know I'm very lucky and proud to know such "heroes".

Hero:

noun, plural -roes; for 5 also -ros.
1. a man of distinguished courage or ability, admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities.
2. a person who, in the opinion of others, has heroic qualities or has performed a heroic act and is regarded as a model or ideal: He was a local hero when he saved the drowning child.

Perfectly said chuck!

What lessons can we all learn from this tragedy?

1 In the horrible conditions 2 sleds riding down hill into Daryl's Hole and then continuing downhill over the waterfall just is not smart. When there is 4-5 feet of new snow on sugar snow there is no way your going to ride up that steep incline. 2 At 3-4 in the afternoon? 3 Walking away from your sleds was not smart.Trying to walk in that snow is impossible.4 Why did they not want to call search n rescue for 20 hours from the initial text? Cause they thought the sleds maybe in the wilderness.

Whether or not your assessment is correct, we all should hold off of the critiques until the family and friends of the deceased have had time to grieve!

While I agree we can all learn something from this and make the life that was lost worth something to the many back country riders here...but your points are just critiques and insults to the deceased.

My lesson learned is that you can never be too prepared. You can never use your head too much....and you should always watch out for yourself and your riding buddies (choose your buddies carefully!).

I hope I have the strength and will to survive like Jordan displayed if I'm ever in such a pinch.

There but for the grace of God go I. We've all been places we shouldn't have been, haven't we. The newer sleds get us places we would have never even thought about a few years ago. We hope to learn and become better on judgement as time goes by. This was a tragic, sad and horrific accident. God bless the Family and help them thru this tragedy.

WTF is wrong with you? Why, when the worst happens does some as$clown always come in and imply how dumb the victim is? I think maybe this discussion should be bewteen you and your pals and not on a forum where there are way more than one or people that actually know these people. Your post fails, and how the Hell do you know what was going through their heads??

I agree.
