Snowmobile Rentals in or around Glenwood springs / Grand Mesa

Hey guys & girls,

I just moved to Carbondale. I wont have the funds to buy a sled this year however I do want to get out 3 to 5 times this winter.

Any good places to rent a sled for a day?

Also in Late March I will be planning a snowmobile ride in memory of my Grandfather who passed away on Oct 11th 2008. He loved the mountains and could be found skiing at Snowmass or riding on his snowmobile.

So I'm looking for someone that knows this area really well to either show me the area or ride along on the memory ride.

Jeff!!

Welcome to the area!! We also live in Carbondale, and ride from either Marion or 4 mile up by sunlight. Speaking of Sunlight, they do snowmobile rentals, I am not sure if you have to have a guide though to rent a sled from them. I will ask the hubby to see where else locally there are any. Keep in touch and let us know if we can help out any way. We are also very active in our snowmobile club, it is a younger croud so it is actually coming around. We hope to have some rides this year, so keep in touch!!

Thanks. I fell in love with the Roaring Fork Valley when I was 9 years old. Ever since I have wanted to move up here. And the time has come for that move. I'll be working at Snowmass as a Liftie. So if you guys ski send me a pm the night before and I'll either ski with you or tell you what lift i'm at so We can meet.

I'll be looking forward to hear of other places that I can rent a sled without going on a tour. :)

Thanks guys!

Grand Mesa Lakes Lodge I think also does rentals, I forgot to mention that one. We also ride on the Mesa, we have a cabin over on Alexander Lake.

Like Gabe said I think the only place in the whole valley that rents sleds without taking you on a tour is J&M rentals out of SIlt.

Thanks for all the info. Funshares it out of the question as i'm not 25 yet.

Anyone have any info on the place in Silt? Like a website or a Phone #?

Or if anyone has a sled that I can ride I'll pay for gas and pitch in for wear and tear on it.

:)
