Any one using one of these jacks. Yes I get stuck, sometime real stuck. I would like a little input on the Snowbuddy which is a take apart unit. I would perfer a take down unit as I do not want to have the jack hanging off my sled. My back is getting old and weak and freinds are few and far between when I am stuck. The bastages just laugh and take pictures.

I have a Highlift but just keeps getting in the way when riding and moving from side to side.
Thanks Mike

last year I saw an older rider on a Yamaha 1ton(RX1) stuck real bad on a climb.....he used his snow jack and some shoveling and he was out all on his own in a decent amount of time. I think that sled should hjave come standard with a jack anyway. He had it mounted down the sides of his running boards along the tunnel and the base was in a bag on the back of the sled.

Only sleds I have ever heard of carrying one of these jacks----Yamaha-----Ride where you are not going to get into trouble if you can aviod it or find better riding buddies---LOL

I ride a 1 ton sled and I would not ever carry one of them jacks !!

if he wants to buy something let him.....thats how we get all those boxes in the garage filled up with extra stuff that we might use someday.

I heard that an RX1 would just dig till it hits bedrock and then they blast out!:face-icon-small-hap

Never said he "could" not buy one--Just saying I would not--I do have a Hi-Lift jack for my 4x4 though!!

enuf of the yamaha jokes---- They dont need a jack because they never get stuck!!!! I ride with a couple of guys that use them one has a cheap knock off one the other has a original one and it works great. Money well spent you can get youself out of almost any thing!!!! I am getting one for the m8 and am going to figure out how to mount it under seat I hate the way it mounts on the tunnel. it would bug me but they say the got used to it. It does work well on the 4 stroke tanks.

Riding two Nytros on most weekends, I am here to attest that the JACK WORKS great at reducing the TIME and EFFORT to unstuck a deeply trenched sled!

Chris,
how do you ride two nitros? Do you stand up and have a rope around both sets of bars??

just looked at the link you posted. . . . . . . . hahahahahahahaahha.

you might as well carry a winch with you, that thing is HUGE. . stop getting stuck. j/p i get stuck too but my chuckle still stands. :face-icon-small-hap

for those that keep jerking your sled out of a 4 foot trench by hand you will eventually need back surgery if you keep doing it. I have one of the highjackers and it is the best money i have ever spent. I dont care how stupid it looks on the side of the sled its great getting the sled unstuck with barely any effort. BTW, these jacks are NOT created equal. the "powderjack" is a chinsy pos and will snap on you at the worst possible time(i have seen it happen). the "highjacker" is more expensive but extremely strong and durable and it has a longer mechanism so it lifts a lot quicker. you get what you pay for.

I too, have one mounted on the side of my '06 Apex MTX.

Mine is the original Highjacker, not the cheap knock off.

It took some engineering on my part to get it to fit beside my 162" track, primarily because of my rear exit exhausts, but I got it mounted very cleanly.

I have yet to use it this season, but its VERY reassuring to me knowing its there if and when I need it.

I buried my sled in a really bad spring snowstorm last season and my girlfriend and I could not get that puppy out (long track, no turn around, huge drift...long story).

We were convinced we were gonna have to ride her XLT out and leave mine till snowmelt season, but alas...a few good samaritans happened by and helped us extricate it.

I vowed then and there...never again! I told myself one of them jacks was goin on my sled just in case!

Call it insurance against hernias and screwed up backs!
