Wildland Firefighters and Forestry Technicians Needed in Merlin Oregon, White City Oregon, John Day Oregon, La Grande Oregon, and Missoula Montana.

Grayback Forestry has multiple contracts with government agencies and private entities to perform all phases of Forest Restoration, Hazardous Fuels Reduction, Emergency Services, Prescribed Burning and Wildfire Suppression Work throughout the United States.
Grayback's reputation for quality work, experienced crews and fire safety creates great opportunities for careers in the forestry and firefighting profession.
Requirements: All applicants must be at least 18 years of age. Applicants are selected based on physical condition, mental toughness, and character. Applicants should DESIRE INTENSE HARD WORK and have a GOOD ATTITUDE. Be able to travel out of the state and work in extremely rugged terrain under all kinds of environmental conditions. Expect to work long hours, 8-16 hours per day. All applicants are subject to background check and drug screen prior to employment.
Training: Experience is not required to apply. Grayback Forestry conducts several Basic and Refresher training sessions in Spring and early Summer at each of our locations. Basic Training is a 5-day course that consists of a fitness capacity test, classroom training and a field day. We also offer RT-130 for those of you whom have already had basic and have some experience which is the pack test plus 8hrs of refresher training.
Wages: Starting wage for fires $14.47 (Includes Fringe) for first 40 hours. Other rates would depend on overtime, experience, position, or contract rates for applicable type of work.
Upon eligibility, Grayback Forestry provides Health Insurance, Dental ,Vision, 401K, vacation, Holiday . When working in California , Grayback pays the state's overtime requirements. and other benefits not listed here. At some locations there are housing options available.
