Very Sad, Condolences to the family.
Some interesting things in the article:
"One of two other men had called the Jackson County Sheriff's office from underneath snow on his cellphone at 1:19 p.m., Rodriguez said. It was the first call received on the avalanche."
Thats amazing, I wouldn't even expect that to be possible. Must have had a big air pocket there. Very lucky
"The other survivor was still in the snow at about 5:30 p.m., Rodriguez said."
This guy survived after being in/under the snow for 4+ hours, that's incredible, and also very lucky.
