As a Polaris and Ski doo owner, I would pretty much agree with the assessment. After owning a 2012 and 2013 Pro RMK 163"s then jumping to an AXYS, there was an amazing difference. The AXYS was a leap forward in handling, power and reliability.

Now that I own the AXYS and the Gen 4 Doo, the Doo feels way more responsive. At first I didn't like it, but after spending some time on it, I prefer it over the AXYS. The AXYS is a great sled, but Doo has done their homework. You really do ride the G4 with your eyes, it's really that responsive. It side hills like crazy, and once you get through the break in, the power is very impressive.

I know there has been some issues with belts and bulkheads for some, but I have not experienced those failures. I fully expect those issues to be fixed for model year 18. And hopefully, Doo does remedy those for current owners. We all knew that a first year sled that was all new from the ground up would have issues as all brands do. That's a chance we take.

As for me, I've been super impressed with the Doo and therefore ordered a 2018 175" in Octane blue with shot start. Gonna be a looooooong summer!

Whats up with running a 153 Cat? If you guys had a 154 Doo why not run the 2 short sleds with one long? If your gonna do a shootout how about making the playing field even for everyone??? Wow no Mountain Cat and you run a shorter track, very unimpressive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your shootout sucks...

Sooooo... if your young and aggressive rider you buy a Cat? if your older and a bit slower a doo? and if your somewhere in between a Polaris?! is that what I get from this

Agreed with 89sandman. You pretty much ran a 16 cat with a shorter track 153 vs two long tracks. The Mountain Cat is a much better sled with getting on top of the snow. And narrower. I put this review as a Poo vs Doo, and throw the Cat part of the review out the window.

Being Poo and Doo didn't change really change anything for next year, and the 18 Cat already being sold and ridden well over a month ago during the current snow season... I would have rather seen that review. With the same length tracks... I guess that's what we will see come this time next year.

Wonder why they used the LE model of Polaris? It has several "extras" that add to the weight.

Maybe because this, along with the extra 2+ gallons of fuel it can hold, nearly 1 gallon of oil it can carry in the tank, helped the heavier sleds look better in the wet weight comparison? Fuzzy math at least makes for some interesting conversation :)

...i'm trying to remember, but i think they did the short track cat unfair comparison last time also....advertising dollars will get you a better comparison every time, why not pull one of the cats' spark wires also, just to make sure..:face-icon-small-dis
