Tbh, I am not 100% sure on what documents he leaked and what information he all let out. Until I know more I cannot decide if he is a patriot or traitor.

The problem with that statement is we will never know what he leaked out. And the government may never know. So I guess he gets a pass. There is a reason he fled the country and I do not believe that it was just to tell everyone that the government was keeping track of who we called.

Let's hear some thoughts and see some voting. There is plenty of talk about Martin and Zimmerman and that little sideshow of liars is insignificant compared to the Snowden story.

I am sure in the day if a "colonists" were to speak ill of the Empire they would of hung for it. ie, George Washington. So I am in no way saying what he did was equal to Washington but I believe he did the right thing by shedding a light on something that most likely barely scratch's the surface of reality...........BTW, Happy 4th of July seems fitting here.

The problem with him shedding this light Himark, is that he ran to other countries. Countries that do not like us, who knows what national security secrets he has provided these countries to harbor him. Had he stayed in the US and put this info out, well than that could be considered freedom of speech. But to go to other countries, with laptops contaning NSA info, that is treason.

He didn't pi$$ on his govt, he has pi$$ed on his country. And, depending on what information he has shared with our really good friends :face-icon-small-win:face-icon-small-win China and Russia, there could be potential for American lives to be in jeopardy. Personally, I don't think we even need to waste the $$$ and effort to bother bringing him back to this country that he obviously hates. It can be solved cheaper, One shot, one kill. Over and done with.

I wonder what the outcome of his freedom would of been had he done this? Its not that I totally disagree with you but I am sure he was fearing for his own freedom.

So far this poll is heading in the direction I thought it would. That explains a lot about the direction this country is headed. For a man to leave this country with laptops and national security knowledge, and to go to not 1 but 2 Communist countries and release only God knows what secrets to those countries and then to have people think of him as a Patriot is very very sad. If he had stayed here and shed light on the phone thing, that would have been an entirely different case. I agree. 1 shot 1 kill!

Not sure how much freedom he is gonna have now with a life on the run.

Traitor! Why else would he run to countries that are not our allies hoping for welcome arms? Even rat hole countries know that he is not worthy of their protection and now he is a traitor without a country or home.

I spent over 20 years in the military defending this country, I have no need for cowards like him!

In the day & age where our Government cares not of our "Bill of Rights" and uses the "Patriot Act", NSA,FBI,CIA, homeland security and a variety of other means to smash our rights. Look at what our government was doing and then you mite want to READ the Bill of Rights. Especially the 4th 5th & 10th amendments.

I take my hat off to Snowden for having the balls to expose this B.S!! People like Snowden are just as important as the ones who have pick up arms to defend us directly. BTW ALL of our founding fathers were branded as traitors by the tyrannical government of their time!

"They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."

Benjamin Franklin

yep...our governments want us sick and dead if we ain't working like dogs paying taxes..
60 thousand dollar family vehicles and 299 thousand dollar homes and poison in our food....who's the traitor...???

Skidoorulz,

Certainly, the way he obtained the data and disseminated it, he may be a spy or at least one according to the Espionage Act.

I am very curious what Snowden has to say about what he claims to be a mass surveillance program that the NSA has on their citizens. That would be a clear violation of our Constitution’s 4th Amendment, which guards against unreasonable searches and seizures. Speaking of the direction of this country, I can think of a lot of ways our government thinks of our Constitution and us…. very little.

Will we ever get to hear about the original allegations? Doubtful, he’s already crucified. Add your name to the list.

Our government is about as useless as tits on a board. They play us all like puppets even the president and there is nothing we can do about it. It all boils down to we have a crooked government that could give a $h!t about the next guy in line End of story

This thread is not asking whether or not the government is good or bad. It is whether or not Snowden is a traitor. Yes I believe some bring up points about the founding fathers being traitors. They were! The difference in them and Snowden is that they did not go to another country and sell trade or barter secrets from the country they left to that countries enemies. They went and started their own country. And if they were alive today they would consider him a traitor. As one here who has earned the right to say it said. He is a coward, and I to have no use for him.

To those who honestly believe that prior to the Patriot act, that the government was not spying on it's citizens with out the knowledge of those citizens. Well all I can say is naive, Ever hear of Social security number? Birth certificates? Drivers license numbers? Concealed carry permits, registering firearm purchases. Go to the bank and get a safe deposit box, you have to provide a Soc Sec number by law. I got pulled over for speeding the other day, The officer gave me a warning and said he went back 20 years and there was nothing on my record that is why he gave me a warning. they know where you are and what you are doing at any given time they want to.
