snowchecked a 2013 LTD, have a '11 rg turbo m8 250mi what to do?

Here's my situation: I've been riding 2 seasons (this last one not much riding at all)

A) Snow checked a 2013 Pro RMK Limited 155 $13k with all my add on's Quite a bunch of crap in extras

B) Have a Turbo M8 2011 260 miles - Race Gas Turbo (only ridden this sled 10mi myself) unreal amount of power

I loved my 2012 Pro but then I came across my 2011 M8 and snagged it up from a buddy, killer deal. Now, I'm thinking if I sell my M8 and use that money to Turbo the new pro I snow checked.

1. snowchecked turbo is approx $7500 w/IC at Vohk installed
2. Turbo M8 is worth $12-14 ish but owe 6500. I could sell it and that could pay for my turbo on the Pro. I could keep it and leave the pro stock.

C) Keep the Turbo M8 for certain days in the powder when I want to enjoy a turbo and keep the pro stock or Turbo the Pro, sell the M8 turbo

I really think what I will end up doing is selling the Turbo M8 and stick to my one bad *** Pro Turbo. But, theres a part of me that just wants to leave it stock and rock the M8 turbo. I honestly don't know crazy to think that this pro will cost me $20k built when my m8 was 8 gs less

I ride with guys that have bone stock Pros. And 1300 BB 174 sleds in the garage for a backup sled and/or the super deep days. Funny thing is, even on the super deep days. They love the agility of the Pro, and the ... Dare I say it... The reliablity of the stock Pro over the mod sleds. Same goes with a Turbo m8 that now sits.

All this to say, if in your shoes, I would get the turbo m8 dialed in and let it sit in my own garage paid for as a back up/loaner sled rather put all my eggs in one modded basket. I think you will love the stock Pro other than pointing up shoots.

all 5 of my friends who have these TM8's built by Vohk or turn key, I've never seen any of them tinkering with them on the trail. The Tm8s require a correct fuel mixture but besides the fuel, its pull and go.

The real problem with keeping the Tm8 is it handles totally different then a stock pro. I should have snow checked 2 new pro's. one with a turbo and one stock. But I am thinking about picking up my buddies 2012 for 8k and then selling the turbo m8 and getting the turbo 2013 pro.

I'm not sure yet but the M8 I will sell if I can get what I want for it. otherwise it will be my #1 sled and the pro will be a solid backup

Man sounds like you are really in a jam. Must be rough having to choose between all those turbos and brand new pros . Just kidding but I would leave the 13 stock and either keep your rgtm8 or get that 12 and turbo it. Gotta have a backup sled though. I've been riding a loaner for a couple weeks now. As a turbo owner also I will go ahead and break the bad news to ya, you will NOT get what you want outa your turbo when you go to sell it. Look in the classified section here. Pretty sad when sleds that were 10k (3 years ago) with 5k turbo added( min) going for 7k obo. I got buddies who can't give thier turbos away for some reason.

I say sell the turbo pay off your loan and be ahead in your finances 6-7 grand or put that towards other debt u might have? Ride the 13' stock. I know crazy idea but something to think about.

Can't believe no else suggested this....

TM8 powerplant, Pro chassis, sell the stock 0 mile Pro motor for $4-$4500 use the pro motor proceeds to pay Vohk or someone else to shoehorn that motor in.

It's been talked about(M8 motor in Pro chassis), someone needs to do it, it might as well be you....

If I had a bunch of money to get rid of, this sounds like a great way to do it!

What I;ve realized is

I shouldn't have snow checked my sled, errr:( But now that it is done. I am going to keep the Turbo M8 and keep the pro stock.

The pro should be awesome, I sold my 12 to buy this 11 turbo cat

13 pro turbo = 21k
11 m8 turbo = 12k
= 9000 difference

keep the pro stock and slowly loose the dough on it

Why did I just throw 500 in the toilet errr

Snowchecking a 2013 pro rmk is not a waste or mistake of any kind, unless you ordered the wrong color! Once the snow falls and you're out ripping like never before, you'll be glad you did it.

I had an 09 tm8 and a stock 11 pro and I was having more fun with the stock pro in the trees. To me, they handle the same but anything the m8 would do the pro did it easier. Turboed the pro and sold the m8 because I knew I wouldn't ride it. Stock pro is more fun in the trees than a tm8. Half the time you can't use all that power and you can feel the extra weight when it is tight. No replacement for the turbo when you need it though. Sell the m8 and good luck getting 12-14 out of it.

I don't need to sell the turbo m8 right now, it will pull 12 next season. it has 272 miles. Its practically new. My buddy just sold his 2009 with 2200 miles same set up although not as nice and without the high output motor and got $8800. I'm not concerned on selling it, It will sell before next season. Shouldn't be an issue at all once the snow falls in the fall.

As for the pro you bought, you mentioned you turbo'd it. How do you like the turbo pro compared to the turbo m8? when you went from your stock pro to a turbo pro, how much more fun was it? 155 or 163? I ordered a 155

If you are going to Turbo the Pro, you will regret the 155. I ride with one and have ridden it. The thing @ 9lbs is flat crazy! (2000' elev) But, is almost unridable. It is constantly on the back bumper. If you have to slow down and get back on the throttle, for get it. It will come over backward on anything steep. He did finally go 163 and will most likely go 174 with it over the summer. The 163 beds through the trees so easy and is so light to toss around that if you are going to mod a Pro with any real hp increase, go atleast the to the 163 if you want to be happy with it.

You know I checked a pro 13' and was going to trade in my rmk 10' with the mods. Now I'm just going to keep it because it's an awsome back up and I know you don't get your money back out of a recreational vehicles. I buy them to ride it and sometime wreck them.

I have a turbo pro thats a 155. Don't let them scare you, the thing was a blast for me. Yea you need to be on your toes a little bit, but with a decent shock package it was manageable for me, and still had an extremely playful feeling to it. I wouldn't do a 163 for myself, but it might be more fitting for others. I grew up on short tracks so a 155 was the longest I could get myself to go. In my opinion it did great, and was still a very playful sled! At the end of the day I think it's a personal preference thing. I'll give up a little bit in climbing for a more fun and playful sled, but to each his own right...

I was running 10-12 lbs but at 10k'

I am also curious to see how you would compare the TPro and the TM8?
Thx!

I've got a 13 Pro coming. Going to leave the driveline stock and take the money I would spend on a turbo and go lightweight. For the $8000 you have budgeted you could get it done to 365-375 dry, 450-460 ready to ride. I'll spend about half that and be 480 ready to ride and have a shock package too. A guy had a great thread about building 3 Arctic Cats, AC 1100T, 2012 AC turbo 800 and a lightweight full carbon 2012 Pro Climb with stock driveline. He sold me on the Lightweight.
