Snowcheck Rails Starting To Chip

After rinsing off my sled this morning, I noticed a couple of spots on my 2014 snowcheck where the coated rails are starting to chip. Did Polaris get a hell of a deal on Krylon rattle can at Wal-Mart?

there painted so you are not going to get the durability of powder coating

Like MH asked.... dirt and gravel riding will do this and if you do enough of it the front of your front track shock spring and rear track shock spring will get chipped up along with the front and rear suspension parts on the rear skid and the rails. It happen to me even with everything powdercoated.

Even using ice scratchers and throwing up snow/ice chunks will chip powder. Best to have them anodized.

My front track shocks chipped. No sign of rails. Ive been babying them by putting the clear hoses on the rails every time i lift my scratchers.

Not going to stay new forever. My gloss hood looks like a black car thats been spounge washed for 20 years already.

Had my rails, spindles, and rear bumper brackets anodized. They all still look flawless. Powder coated my running boards, and they look like shlt. So, pretty much anything you paint or powder coat, will not last long IMO.

just took a better look and i have some chips in the same areas but not near as bad. I think ill pick up on of those paint touch up pens and see if that works.

they are going to chip as long as you run scratchers in low snow.

Had all those issues with my all black Ski Doo. Wait till end of season krypton semi flat black and touch up

I had a friend powder coat a set of rails a few years ago. They are still in excellent shape and we ride a lot of gravel to get to the snow sometimes. Prep is the key.
