snowcheck options confusion

i guess i am a little confused by some of the options offered by the snowcheck program.
i take it the black pro rmk is the base pro that will also be available in season. when building one on the website, the only options are track length and electric start (besides accessories).
the orange pannels are a spring only option (extra $300 is it)? when building that one online, there is the option of 2 different seats as well as different windshields. also, in the snowcheck catalog from the dealer there were accessory black or white side pannels for the orange sled for $375 i think.
my questions are: why are the seat and windshield choices offered on the orange and not the black? if you get the accessory black or white pannels for the orange, do you still get the orange ones as well? and is there any advantage to ordering the orange one with the accessory side pannels over just getting the black one??

i would like a black sled but like the black suspension components of the orange one better...:decision:

not exactly sure on the details but im pretty sure you would get both sets of side panels. As far as the seat windshield goes that is just a spring order option but if you talk to your dealer im sure he could get you the seat and windshield you wanted.

I dont understand the way Polaris set it up either but, when you snowcheck, only the retro or orange rmk's (only talking about rmk's) have the option of seat and windshield. When you order the orange and you want the black side panels, you get both. You will receive the orange panels on the sled and the extra black ones ($350). I like the black suspension componenets over the red as well. Buy the orange sled and get the black panels and then sell the orange ones. I think they would sell pretty fast. I bought the orange one for the same reasons you are thinking. Good Luck.

Can't believe you guys don't like the red a-arms and suspension bars....One of the reasons I'm going with the Black! I thought that looked really sharp and really added to the "Pro" look.

In regards to your question, I couldn't agree more with the snow check confusion. For the life of me, I don't understand why they are charging $200 more for the orange or the retro. Also, I didn't get the up-charge if you wanted a different color side panel ($349). However, until reading this post, I didn't realize you were able to keep the originals.

Would have thought there could have been more consistent options for the spring order....both in price and between models.

when i looked at the black one today in the brochure at the dealer the black one was shown with black a arms and suspension. im sure of it but i forgot to bring it home. does anyone have one to look? i dont want the red either.

the black one in the brochure with the black seat and suspension components is actually the orange one with black accessory panels at least thats what it says below the picture

The extra side panels option is listed in the brochure under the Polaris Gear accessories. I didn't see it either when I built mine but I wasn't really looking for it either. Its probably something you will have to talk to your dealer about when you finalize the deal.

Now that I went to look they don't give you the style/bodt section on some of the models such as the orange Pro RMK. However if you choose the black Pro RMK you can choose the white side panels.

I saw it if I choose the standard Black Pro then you can choose white. That is the option my buddy is going with. Looks just like the Pro 600. I'm going The standard Pro Black. I take the graphics off and run my own anyway. How do you know if you get both sets of panels?

Assault

I find it strange that you can get an electric start on an assault with the competition track, but not with the powder 5.1 track. That seems backwards to me. I like my assault so well that I am ordering one for my wife, i just wanted to add the electric start for her....

I was worried when i posted this that i was the only moron who didnt uderstand. i am sure glad there are a few others like me :)

the seat and windshields are not available on the black because it is the base pro model that is available all year. yes if you get the accessorie panels for the orange you still get the orange ones. the only difference between getting the black one or getting the orange with black side panels would be the price difference and the lack of red suspension components.
