Snow Tire season again

I'm needing some 265-70/17 10-ply snow tires.

I like a good set of studded tires for towing the trailer. Anyone have any opinion on what works best for them? I mount them on separate wheels and take them off during the winter when we are low on snow since I put a bunch of miles on my truck for work. I know the Nokian makes a good studded winter tire, but what other options are working well?

i was wondering the same thing. best all around winter traction tire as well as working very good on ice. ice scares me the most. ice " kill's. "

I have run studded Goodyear UltraGrips on my 2 place enclosed trailer for two seasons now.... and this year am running 'em on the truck too!

Now in all fairness I haven't tried this combo yet and the tires are new for this year, but in every other application I have used the studded tires absolutely ROCKED! With these 10 ply tires on a heavy truck that already handled well it should make for some more relaxed, confident driving in the brutal conditions we face every year! :)

I've been running Blizzaks on all 3 of our vehicles (Chevy Silverado 4X4, Volvo S-40 AWD, and Hyundai Santa Fe AWD) and would never go back to studs again. I got 5 seasons out of them on my daily driver, the Volvo, before I hit the initial 50% wear bar. And before the Blizzak bashing begins by the die hard studded tire guys, I live on the side of a mountain in Alaska where winter begins in Oct and ends in April, so it isn't like I only drive in occasional snow and ice. The traction is absolutely incredible!!! The Blizzak W965 is a 10 ply truck tire.
