Snow Show Feedback

Hey everyone! I'd like to solicit feedback on the 2014 Denver Snowmobile Expo. I appreciate both positive and negative feedback, as long as it's constructive. I definitely take this feedback in how we shape the show moving forward, so your thoughts carry a lot of weight. Thank you again!

You need to change your "currently" status because I saw you running around like a chicken with it's head cut off.

It was a great show, glad to hear that attendance was up on Saturday. My biggest complaint is the quality of the food. I know that's out or your control though.

I think the swap meet should be all together, instead of spread out between two lots and the rear driveway. The swap meet seemed to be less organized this year too, with some vendors blocking other vendors... When it was at the merchandise mart, you had isles that you could walk up and down and the vendors were set up in an orderly manner, this weekend was disorderly...

I really enjoyed the seminars, they were very informative and it was nice to sit down for a bit after all the walking around. I was mildly disappointed that the prices of the vendor's products were nearly identical to what you'd pay if you ordered them online, but that's out of your control. There seemed to be plenty of extra space in the facility, I would suggest giving the vendors more space. I didn't do much shopping mostly because the vender areas were so packed with people and their displays were so close together that you couldn't even move, let alone look at the products. Other than that it was a great show, thanks for all the hard work.

X3 on more space for the vendors. I found some great prices on a few Klim jackets that were last year's inventory as well. However, I feel one of the biggest advantages of the show is the ability to see and try on multiple brands/models of apparel in one sitting. Hard to find products for sledding at the local dealers, so the ability to check everything out in one place is nice, even if the prices are similar to retail. My $0.02....

The show was great! Seems to be growing for sure.

Lots of vendors and aftermarket parts mfg.'s. Several film guys. Tons of outfitters. Costco.

We enjoyed the workshops - especially Rasmussen, GoPro/Video editing and Burandt's schpeel.

Things to improve on:

- encourage the swap meet to grow again.
- more floor space
- Yup, better food is a real opportunity

Make sure to care & feed the after-market guys. If they get business, they return and we all benefit from funding their R&D cycle. I supported three of them - Skinz, ZBroz and IceAge along with two video outfits. ;-)

Parking was handled very well, and the place looked great!

Thanks for all the hard work.

MD.

I do think evaluating the swap meet in its entirety would be needed, very spread out and I think a two day venue would bring more sellers and buyers. Really enjoyed the inside and opportunity to see and talk with the various people from the pros to the vendors.

Thanks for all the hard work!

Didn't go this year, only time I been to Denver Snow Show was 2013. The only things I actually can say deal with the '13 show. Clothing Vendors need women's riding gear too, could only find one clothing vendor that had women's gear. More aftermarket vendors that deal with performance and suspension products. I personally think that West Yellowstone Expo and World Championship Hillclimbs provide twice as much vending for snowmobile performance products that Denver did in 2013. It also seemed that every dealer in Denver to FOCO had a booth except for FOCO motorsports! I didn't come to see what every dealer in Northern Colorado has to offer in videos, sleds, and hats. A competition event would be nice, but with the lack of room that the complex provides would be tough, maybe a vintage sled show or something might help a bunch. Not trying to bash, just giving my input on what I would like to see in the future for Denver snow show.

Thanks for the hard work!

The show was great and it's fantastic to see it grow and get better each year! I agree the food was not the greatest but it did the trick and I presume we really have no control over that. Other than that I'd just like to see it continue to grow and attract more vendors.

One question I had as I attended with some Yamaha guys is how would we get more manufacture involvement? Ski doo is the only one I saw a factory rig there for the show. Do we reach out to the other 3?

The video premier was also a great addition!

I didn't get to stay long as life is happening

However!

What I saw was great. It seemed well organized, with plenty of vendors and attendees.

I would like to see the addition of events over in the event center if possible. Watercross would be amazing as I've discussed this with Marlenee. I keep saying I want to put together watercross for the summer and it just never happens.

I'm so glad the CSA spear heads this stuff up. We all have lives, as do the CSA folks, and they manage to slide this stuff into their schedules.

Nothing but respect.

Great comments so far! I'll elaborate on a couple of the questions in here:

We have invited the vintage folks every year. For the past few years they have been able to ride under CSA's insurance with the pretense that they would become a club through CSA. This year, they again approached CSA and we worked to again get them under our insurance. However, we weren't able to do so because of something to do with our policy and non-member clubs. They chose not to become a club or supply their own insurance and therefore chose not to attend. I was really bummed to see it go this way. I hope we can work something out for next year as they are so cool to see!

On the OEM vendors, we ask, beg, and plead the OEM's to ALL come to our show. In fact, I really thought Yamaha was going to have a factory booth, but it didn't work out. Arctic Cat sends a couple of factory people and usually rob and Dave but they use the local dealers to mainly support our show (I believe their big factory trailer is in Epping during our show). As far as Polaris, I don't know why they don't come. All of that being said, I would love for them all to come and show their new tech. We lean on them pretty hard, both through CSA and from the SnowGoer side. I am very thankful for the OEM's that do show up.

As for the events, I'm on board with getting something going as well. It looks like attendance was up (double digits) this year, so that will help. Otherwise, the expense is just too much. I'm continuing to push on this issue though.

On all of the other points that were brought up, they are excellent and we will use them as well as any that follow in planning next year's event.

Thank you all so much!

loved it!

Hi Steven, what a great show! The workshops I went to were stellar and I was able to try on all the gear i've been itching to. Congrats on a job very very well done...

An observation... love the BIG dollies and lifts for the garage but no vendors, someone has an opportunity here...

Sundays... I'd say there is an opportunity to get people excited for attending both days... maybe new/different/part 2 of workshops or the Crew could do a premiere or something that would be enticing folks for a second visit... just a thought

Thanks again!!! A huge success! ~Nona

AWESOME Show

It was an AWESOME show . Steven ,you did an amazing job with the show . Saw you EVERYWHERE ,always giving people the help they needed . From finding the right cords for the A/V stuff to showing people to the vendors .Fantastic Job .
I felt the seminars were top notch ,really enjoyed The Professor . Matt Entz and Kim Longs seminar was great as well . The Dizz and Jim Phelan did a great job with the GoPro and editing class . Great diversity with vendors and was very happy to see Skidoo factory people there .Again , fantastic job by all . Looking forward to next year and will offer to help if you need it . Thanks for all you DOO !

Swap Meet

I think the swap meet should be two days I was there Sunday and had everyone ask me where the swap meet was.

If you stay at the National Western you need to move the swap meet to the big parking lot to the North of the building. Having everyone walk around the building is just is a pain.

If you move the swap meet North then anyone coming out of the building would be able to see the swap meet. I think it would really help as you could setup lanes for people to walk.

Also make the swap meet a donation to allow it to grow. I know it is a CSA fundraiser but in needs to grow to get the show to grow. Just ask the show in Puyallup WA - their Swap meet has gotten huge and so has the show.
