Snow flaps

I believe it depends on which track you got. 3" vs 2.6".
What he said. Was in local Polaris dealer the other day to order better 2016 SKS snowflap for my 15 Pro, they said it was the same part number as for the Axys Pro with 3 inch track, they had one on the floor and it looked the same to me as the SKS flap too. Want to keep more snow under the tunnel to keep it cooler, and for $30 this is worth a try.

The longer, solid flap that comes on the 3" does run cooler, but they dont even last a season without breaking off. They have no way to flex, so if your ridding in good deep snow, doing wheelies, or get stuck they bend straight back and crack the plastic.
Polaris will warranty them, or you can spend the 30 bucks on another one. Eric

What is a good aftermarket replacement if you have the 3 inch track and want to replace pen?

True! These long flaps are ridiculous! The second time i backed down the ramp from the truck, i ran over the huge flap at the bottom, and had to free it to back on off the ramp. Went to the dealer and got the standard flap and put it on the next day.

They say it is longer to help cool the 3" track sleds, but with the standard flap, I never had an overheating issue all season.

I've never had any cooling issues with the standard flap. But also don't typically have to ride any trail to get into where I'm going.

The larger flap with no holes that come on standard on the 3" models work. I ran it all last season wit zero issues. It has stayed in place and makes a big difference in cooling compared to the standard Pro RMK/Axys snow flap on a 3" in minimal snow conditions.

Thx guys

Also any of you knows nthe added weight for the gas piggy shocks? The 163 quickdrive is listed at 413 but was wondering with the upgraded shocks

I have a 2016 sks and destroyed the flap in less than 100 miles it was too stiff i replaced with the pro flap. the temps are the same on and off trail and it has lasted 400 miles no problems so far.

PDP, from Scott's link, make a decent, tough, simple alternative. Run it long and put a cinch strap on it for reversing in snow. Did this with PDPs on two pro's and they cooled better than stock. No issues in deep snow with hangup. Trim corners abit or they will catch your feet.

the standard flap was more than enough last year for my sled, the axys has a better cooling system than the proride.

There is another option . Don't know about the 17 I forgot to look but all other Assault Switchbacks had a solid flap identical to the cut out Pro flap without holes

That is what i run now. Tried the 3" flap and yes it cooled better but a pain to work with.
