Snow deflector

Has anyone tried building themselves some sort of snow deflector to go just above the track, on the bottom side of the frame? I wouldn't mind trying something this season to keep snow off the brake rotor, back of motor, foot pegs, etc. This would be for a Timbersled of course.

A buddy of mine made a really nice aluminum plate that fit right in there perfect, looked great, problem was the entire area packed solid with snow so at the end of the day there was a 20 lb block of ice stuck in there. It filled it solid from the plate to the top of the frame. It might have just been the type of snow that day but... He ripped the plate out the next day.

when I tried this, it did keep snow from kicking up on the back of my legs, but in powder early season I just ended up carrying around a lot more snow on my frame on top of the plastic tunnel panel.
