Snow Conditions At Sandpoint and Priest Lake

Coming Dec 27 from Edmonton and wondering what the snow is like in the area. Has grooming started? What area works for family riding? As well where do I get registration and maps for the area?

I'm not too far from Priest Lake, we just got about 3" of fresh snow in town overnight so up high it might have put down a fair bit. I don't know of any websites or anything to check on grooming schedules and such... sorry I can't be more help.

was up 3 weeks ago had 2-3 feet at pass on west side gromers meeting this weekend need some base hope they start groming this weekend west side is a good trail system some off trail if we get some more snow i will be up the 26th thrue the 1st so hopeing on lots of snow

looking for some pics and or updates for where their is snow in the area. Schweitzer says 40" at the village anything close to this at priest lake? or can you ride on the schweitzer side?

There isnt crap for snow below 3500 feet. From 3500 to 5000 feet its bullet proof. From 5000 on up its good, but there is a butt load of stuff still sticking up. Lots of rocks, stumps, and brush.
I saw Ray moving the groomer through Sandpoint, heading north yesterday. Dont know where he was going with it.
Roman Nose sucks, Trestle Creek is a drive to the 8 mile marker. Pack River is driveable in a car. Falls Creek is plowed to the 3 mile for logging, then after that its harder than hell. The bridge is missing at the bottom of Ruby Creek, so thats shot in the foot.
Dont know what to tell you, other than we havent got spit for snow down here.

We rode Trestle Creek today, east of Sandpoint. There where guys with decks parked 2 miles up the trail from the parking lot. I have a trailer so I go to ride ice and dirt for that two miles! Bring the scratchers!
The trail was groomed this week all the way to the Moose Lake trail and up to Lunch Peak.
I was pretty surprized by how good the snow was above 5000'. It has smashed the brush down quite well, and if you avoid the BIG lumps in the snow, a ball can be had out in the trees! (Its warmed up a bit).
I think the east side got quite a bit more snow than the west side did.
You will have a good time. I was a little sketchey about it at first, but up high its good.
