snow build up

I have a 09 apex, and when I ride in deep powder the snow builds up under my feet. I can trail ride for awhile and the heat exchangers will melt the snow, but that doesn't do me any good when I am in the back country for hours. So any help would be helpful.

www.snowmobilebetterboards.com will absolutely fix what ails it. Our new Apex system is one of our absolute best performing models. Get coated boards as the finish even performs better yet...plus looks exceptional.

Go to our website and click on WHY BETTER BOARDS...check out two exact Apex duplicates ridden simultaniously in the exact fashion for an actual heads up test. Look at the results!

Better Board really help. But sometime it still takes a little more effort. Go to a camping supply house and purchase a tent stake hammer. They are made out of plastic and weigh nothing. Not to mention if you pay more than 5 bucks you are being taken. Works great for beating the Ice off. Will even know it loose in the tunnel by tapping on the outside.

OK, maybe go up to 8 bucks. Seems like the price went up since I bought mine 3-4 years ago. Once you get one every one will want to use it.

thanks for the help. Better boards still dont get under where your feet are. I like the tent stake hammer idea better. Maybe better boards should redesign their boards to go a little farther forward.

Re-design....more forward? It's one of our BEST performing models! We have thousands on the snow and they are universally considered one of the single best things you can do to a mountain sled. They go right up to the footwell ramp. If you rode them you would absolutely love them especially on the APEX. On every single one I've ever ridden on my feet stayed perfectly planted and in control. Did you go look at the comparisons?

Here you go...and I don't ever need to take a hammer!

I use both, the better boards and the hammer. Together on them wet sticky days works great. Not to mention taping against the side of the tunnel usually knocks the stuff off under the tunnel.

if you look at the second better board picture you will see the snow build up in front of the boards. that is the problem. the hammer is the answer for this year, Iam going to build my own this summer to fix the problem. I hear nothing but good things about better boards.

Better boards

Yeah better boards are amazing! They work awesome! But the snow build up that you are seeing can't really be prevented unless you mod that yourself cuz the better boards don't go that far... They obviously can't because that part is the bracket that connects to the frame! That's just a flaw in yamahas design... not in better boards!
