Going to my wifes familys for christmas in montpelier, going to be enough snow up high to ride? How much do you usually have around christmas? Comming down from washington, hoping to play in your awesome powder, I guess we still have 3 weeks alot can happen.

Where do you guys play, spent a fair amount of time down there, this is the first time taking the sleds. Bloomington, emmigrant, home canyon?

Bloomington canyon will be a great canyon to ride up, you can ride up to the lakes and then head North over into Paris Flats and ride all over that country. And you can keep going North from there but I have never been that far.

Just South of St. Charles Canyon there is Green Canyon and that takes you into alot of riding. The best way to get there is to go west from the Minetonka Cafe and that road takes you right up Green Canyon. You can head West from there and go into Franklin Basin and ride South heading into Utah.

Both Bloomington and Green are groomed in case you are taking the family with you, and both offer alot of area to ride in. Now lets just hope there is 6 feet of snow by the time you get here.!!

Took a road ride Saturday Nov 28th in North Canyon which is just off of emigration basin (HWY 36). The snow was minimal with just enough to ride the trail but nothing more than that. Unless we get some decent storms between now and Christmas don't expect any great riding. Last year it was January before we really got the white stuff we're all looking for.

Thanks for the help, hope it starts dumping, I will be there for a week and a half, so hopefully it shapes up. We had 4 feet up here in washington last week, been riding 3 times already. but I just really want to ride in your area, looks great and your snow is way better, not wet like ours. Hope for snow!!!

You sure you were in Idaho? I was at the top of Emigration (parking lot) mid December last year and was riding in 6ft of pure fluff. I don't think I ever seen it snow so much in one day. We've been getting some decent snow lately, and more is expected around this area. So your Christmas present is waiting for you...

I rode up to Danish Pass on Wed and found some decent powder, going again tomorrow and there is another storm expected to dump 3 feet by the end of the weekend!!!
We are heading up Cub River and going to Franklin Basin I will post pics!!!

I was up emmigrant a couple weekends back and there was 6 inches, barely enough to ride on. Snotel now says 11 inches and the forecast for this weekend looks promising. Let it snow!!!

This past week more snow fell, still not enough to really leave the trails. Let's hope the next 10 days produce some significant snow, but it doesn't look promising at the moment.

Currently I'm out east, however, when I return on December 19th I'll stop at the top of emigration canyon parking lot and nab some photos. Like everyone else I'm hoping to return to 6 feet and better riding conditions.

Here is an update ENJOY!!

These were took Saturday Dec 12, with new snow up there over night!!!

heading back up on Tuesday and Wednesday, I will keep you posted on the conditions but plan on bringing your sleds down it should be good for ya!!

between Franklin Basin and Pat Hollow crash site, after this storm we just had there should be plenty of snow up there to play on but not deep enough to get crazy yet!!

Trip back east was cut short by a day, so will be heading through emigration canyon today with more pictures to come from the parking lot at the top. Will try and get both sides, North toward Sherman's peak and South towards Paris peak.

If all goes well, might even get a ride in tomorrow :D
