Sno Scoot secondary

I have an 88 sno scoot that has a sort of bog once the sled starts to upshift. I have been fiddlling with the carb (cleaned, new jets, float height, choke cable, air screw, etc.) and I am not sure if it is jetting or clutching. I replaced the rollers in the primary last year . . . and a new belt and a fuel filter. It seems snappy enough down low but once it shifts it kind of flattens out and slowly gains speed. I was thinking maybe the secondary springs/spring is worn? Any help is appreciated...thanks.

I have been playing some with my skoot and sport...

do u think its shifting up to fast or just not making its power? does it make a diff if your on groomed or in fresh or? Have you read all my threads on here??

be a good idea, does it start well? Did you see what I have done with the thin washer?

I'll go back and read your threads. I'll also check compression... what should it be? Feels like upshifting too fast...on a smooth field with a couple inches of snow.

I would try my liittle washer trick first...see what happens. If not get a new secondary spring and change it out...pretty easy to do....

Thanks. I thought the secondary springs were no longer available? So I should start with a .040 shim?

So for comparison, I compression tested the 89 blue scoot I have, which runs and shifts well, and that was 120.

I took the primary apart on my 88 black one in order to add a shim but if i add the shim, there is not enough teeth left to put the kick start washer back on...is this correct?

Also, how are you guys holding the primary and secondary in order to torque? Thanks!

I just centered the kick start washer deal and tightened it up. On the secondary clutch just use a air impact.

Thanks, got the secondary off and the clutch shoe pads are pretty worn and glazed, definitely beyond the limit. So I guess time for a new carrier shoe assembly.
