Sno-friends..2012 Challenger SRT-8 392, HELP me choose AUTO OR MANUAL

It's this simple.

If you enjoy shifting and running through the gears - get the manual.

Stick, My lightly modded 09.5 G8 GXP (Livernois Tune, Lt headers, and cold air kit) which is putting down around 410RWHP leaves 20 foot patchs of rubber shifting into third.....my two boys (2.5 and 5) love it.

Stick for sure! theres nothing like double clutching down, and listening to the engine growl down from 4-5k rpm to bring you to a stop!
Sure miss listening to my straight piped 5.0 do that.

Dont know if your dodge at heart but the new 2013 shelby is one bad *** ride for 60k. 0-60mph 3.5s , in first :face-icon-small-sho

3rd gear will take you to 140mph real quick!

If you're going to drag the car, auto hands down.
But if not and you want to have some fun, the manual is going to give you much better management of your hp at any speed.
I have a Chevelle with a B&M Megashifter over a TH350, the thing hits like a manual without ever letting off the throttle. It really just comes down to what you want out of the car.

Get a Skyline

I don't think he is looking to spend double on the car and I'm pretty sure he wants an American V8...

Although you've already decided on a stick (good choice), I was going to chip in my two cents. I'm a firm believer that any car with a shred of performance should be a stick, it adds to the driving experience. I don't get guys that buy corvettes, camaros, challengers etc with an auto. Might as well buy a ford taurus in that case:nono:

I love the manual in my 2012 Camaro SS/RS.

Keeps people that dont know how to drive a clutch from asking to drive it.

The LS3 platform is the most mod friendly out there, if you were to modify it.

Seems like a no brainer, and I did test drive the manual 6 speed, (didn't get it out of 4th and still had gear left at 110mph, lol), But when I started looking at professional reviews and stats, the AUTO is about 0.3- 0.4 sec faster from 0-60 and the 1/4 mile.

SOOO, why would you get a manual? Just asking.

Yes, I know, it's in the wrong section, but I may pull the plug on this purchace and don't wnat to get the "wrong" one. lol (looking for maximum, quick exposure, so just bear with me please! )

Opinions/facts please, Thanks

Unless you are going to bracket race it competitively or are a total sissy, get the manual transmission :)

Very true....

IMO I wouldn't get a stick for a daily driver. It can go both ways. There's advantages to each side but I would still not want to shift all the time stuck in traffic......

i wouldnt buy either one id buy the new 2012 SRT 8 jeep grand cherokee! Why, ill tell ya why they are all wheel drive (will do 4 wheel drifts!!!!) and on track time they posted a touch faster then both the challenger and 300 because they are all wheel drive with auto adjusting suspension and electronic dif controls, paddle shifters and yes its 4x4 so it works great for MT and you can still tow with them! Plus they look a million times better then either of the other 2

go stick and go with the 10, it doesnt take long before 470 hp feels slow, my camaro has 575hp and am already thinking about building a procharged 434ci sbc up around 900 hp
