In today's age of info...WHY WOULD ANY BODY.....overeat? Have unprotected sex? Drink and drive? Join the army? Participate in extreme sports? and so on......

Bottom line, tons of things are hazardous to your health, smoking is one of them, but it is one of MANY.
Yes your right, however ones overeating, having unprotected sex, dont affect others quite like second hand smoke. Not too mention the stench from it. Your right about drink and drive , the others you mention still dont have the same effect on others as smoking. Its a choice that we all have...like many choices out there. However if you had seen my Dad spending the last two years of his life fighting for every single breath he took. You would have a better understanding of my stance. We have to respect the rights of a person who wishes to smoke, but unfortunately quite often it enfrienges on my right not to smoke...sorry if I got off the topic. Hope your poll helps you out in your class. Dino

I agree 100%. Which is why I only smoke outside around people who either smoke, or don't mind it.

Think about it this way, by the time cancer gets me, the world will have ended because of global warming...or that's what Al Gore would have us think.

Are you talking smoke habitually or once and awhile? I smoke the odd prime time and usually grab a pack of smokes for a camping trip....but day to day I do none of the above. Put that into your study however you see fit...

Well, guys, thank you!

However, I have until the 30th for this, so the more votes the better. I checked with my professor and this is a legitimate survey as far as he is concerned, and there is extra credit for the person that surveys the most people.

I have no idea what kind of numbers some people will turn in, but I figure the more the better for me. So, if you haven't voted yet, please do, if you have, thank you!

Man, I should have clarified in my original post.

Smoking cigarettes, as far as I'm concerned is smoking more than one cigarette a day.

Cigars is 1 or more a week.

I really should have remembered to say that. If you're vote is wrong now, don't worry, but if you could, post what you voted for, and what you should have voted for had you known. Like I said, its not a big deal.

When I turn my money into nothing more than smoke in the air, it goes to gas and oil to take me up the mountain, and instead of taking years off my life, I believe it adds years.:)

I quit smoking a year and a half ago when my wife and I found out she was pregnant. Best thing I have done. Do not miss smelling like arse, and the smokers cough.

now if only you could find a way to stop looking like arse;) Oh we are going skiing this weekend, you should show up.
