smiths fork?

i was wondering the same. supposed to go ride there saturday with Adams, Burandt, and Kurtis but i wonder how far up the snow is.....

I live in Alpine, Maybe 45 min from there but i havnt been down that way in a while. Its been in the 80's the past few days the snow is really going off so im sure you have to drive back in there quite a ways.

i think i might be heading that way this weekend i guess well see what its like i went there last year on june 27 with rasmussen and some other guys we drove all the way to where the raod turns and starts going back up the hill side

we went up friday the 24th and unloaded at poker flats but you should be able to farther now the snow is going fast now up high 6 ft on top of comesary ridge then

went up there yesterday. You can drive a few miles past poker flats.
There is a few holes and washouts in the snow right in the middle of the trail so watch for those. Still about 7-9 feet up high. Lots of water channels in the snow, but once you get over sheep pass the snow smooths out and its pretty fun!

ya i talked to some guys that went up yesterday with curtis and burandt and a bunch of other people said they drove in twelve miles and there was still lots of snow just choppy and washed out

We went up Saturday. I think we showed about 15 miles from the highway turnoff. Couple snow piles you can't get a truck through and a tree that needs cut out of the way, but it wasn't bad getting to snow. Rode probably a mile of snirt before a solid snowpack. Like Phatty said, definitely watch out for a few spots that are washed out in the road heading in. Can't see them until you are about to go right in. As long as you can keep getting up the road I bet there will be riding up there the rest of this month.

i am going there friday and every weekend till i cant go no more i want to ride there august 1st, the last time i rode there last year was june 27 and i parked at the end of the rode.

Is that what they call "the ledges" on the left side at the end of the road?

Not sure on that one. This was the first time I've ridden up here so I was following trail the whole time. It could have been since this was the bowl area just past where we got off the road. Pretty amazing country to ride through. Would love to go boondockin through there with 2-3' of pow. Some of those hills are a bit more than I would put the stocker up against in the middle of winter though :face-icon-small-sho

Sunridge told me this week that is where we were in Feb. It's called the terraces.
We WERE in there with 2 to 3' of fresh.
It was a blast.

CrazyRed getting is POW on in late Feb.
