Smaller brake lever for Sno Scoot???

W

winter

Well-known member
Where to find a smaller snow scoot brake lever, seems pretty far away for small hands.
Any ideas???

No idea.

I just tried to adjust it so it would stop the scoot before the handle hit the bar. Probably not to factory spec, but it fits the smaller hands better.

I also lubed the cable pretty good so it would move as freely as possible.

I know the feeling... Ours got away from our 9 year old going down a steep hill, and he bailed. Luckily it was a straight shot into a bowl, so no damage, and no broken bones. Definite pucker factor though.

thanks

Thanks Guys.
Yes we had the same problem, I was riding next to my 9yr old son going down a steep bumpy hill and I watched him try and try to grab the brake.
I could not stop him, he hung on to the sled, but I don't want to do that again.
I will post if I find something.

I took mine off and bent it so its closer to the bars for a easier reach. Worked great and easy to bend.

I watched my 8 yr old daughter and she is still struggling with it. I took it apart tonight to see what we are up against and that spring is pretty HD. Maybe a lighter spring? Also how about a small Hyd set up from a small dirtbike or such?
Anyone got any ideas?

Problem I see with a motorbike is the cable activated clutch is on the left side. Hydraulic brakes may work, but are typically on the right side for the front.

Well I fabbed a nytro caliper and resivoir onto the sport. Had a extra set up plus I like how u can adjust the brake handle clearance as my girls have small hands. Well see next weekend when we try it out.

Well worked great. My six year old daughter who has tiny hands can now lock the track when ever she wants. Best mod ever:face-icon-small-hap

I heat mine up and gently bent it back towards the bars roughly 1.25" closer, works great for my 7 year old daughter. After shortening the brake lever travel I adjusted the brake pads tighter so it engages the brake after pulling the lever a quarter inch.
