Sly dogs on the 1100

I put the 7 inch powder hounds on the 1100 and
I was really pleased with sidehilling, flotation, turning.
Turning was effortless, too effortless. In certain snow if
I initiated a turn the skiis would go all the way left or right.
Fairly dangerous especially if standing up when it happens.
It's almost like there isn't enough keel behind the spindle to keep the skiis straight. Has any one experienced this?

My brother has the sly dogs, but I think he has the 8inch. I thinks he likes them. I know when I rode it in WY in Mar last year,,, I did jot notice an issue. Maybe he'll chime in.

Do you have a 12, 13, or 14 M 1100? I know they changed the spindles for the 13's...

I have the 8" Slydogs and have found that they are lighter on the trail than my powder pros but I do not have the issue that you mentioned. Because of their flotation, the sled is a bit harder to pull over onto its side but the other pros outweigh the con. Try adjusting your skid shock to put more pressure on your front skis.

I run the 8" and love them. Are they not biting on the trail(if so just get a shaper bar or longer shaper bar) or off trail(more of a set up deal like mentioned above)?

On the 1100 I always recommend the 8". You should not need more ski pressure on the 1100 on the trail. It was born with plenty. What skeg are you running?

I have really grown to like the 7 inch skis, but in some snow conditions it slams the skis all the way right or left. doesn't do it on the trail or in light powder, only seems to do it in wet snow. skags are the ones that don't add extra cost. also added a half a hole on the straps to get more ski pressure and did help some. still pulls the skis up so will leave there.
