SLP Tuned exhaust question

After seeing the price of an entire SLP tuned exhaust system for an 06 700, I'm considering piecing one together. I'm pretty sure I can locate a pipe for a 900, just need to make sure its a 2006 correct? Also, how important is the Y-pipe? I already have the SLP can, so I was planning on running that, even though it sounds like some kind of walmart muffler. And how much performance will I be sacrificing by cobbling one together rather than spending the cash and getting a tuned set?

Thanks everyone!

The can won't work... the can that fits the stock pipe like you have is different and won't fit the SLP pipe.

The y-pipe is pretty important in my opinion... the whole system is built to work together, having the right length of pipe entails having the right y-pipe and expansion chamber. And if you have the wrong fitting can then you can have improper back pressure.

Will your idea work? Don't know, but the risks of it not working are pretty high in my opinion... get it wrong and it can eat the pistons away or kill the power all together.
