slp straight line tracking skis?

Love those skis. Used them exclusively in the mountains for years. Even after the Powder Pros came out I still used them because I didn't like the funny grabbiness of the Powder Pros. Then I switched to Powder Pros with the Carl's Cycle cut. Until then there wasn't anything better in the mountains than the SLTs in my opinion.

I didn't run them on my Edge, but they have been my favorite ski on the XP. I also ran the anti-dart wings on the SLT's and they were as good as Simmons (no darting) on the rutted up trails.

Prefer the Powder Pro's over the SLT's and Simmon's skis, hands down better floatation and turning control in the powder. And they flat out work on the "trail"/hardpack.

For my own experiences it totally depended on the chassis. Obviously you can also adjust your setups to change how your skis react as well. For the chassis you ride I felt like the Simmons were far and away the best ski available. Also easiest to set up and have it be right both on the trail and off. (that isn't a generalized statement that is from actually riding and testing multiple skis including all of the SLP offerings on a edge sleds)

Now if you are talking IQ or IQ RAW then the SLP and stock grippers extended wear bar with better spindle angle and setups are pretty much a wash. I did test the new upcoming Simmons Gen III and they were very very impressive heads up against grippers and the SLP. I'd say superior in all conditions of that day (groomed trail to 2 ft of very light fresh on a solid base). But since the stockers are really good as are the SLP's I would have to really be wanting the ultimate to pay the difference in that case.

The one I haven't tried is the new Simmons Gen III on the edge chassis. But once again the tried and true originals were really good for that (your) sled.
