SLP Single

I am looking at adding an SLP single pipe kit to my 09 M-8. They say it can be run at 3000 ft and above without a boondocker box with no problems. Just wondering what everyone's real world experience is with this set up and what your thoughts are. They also claim 14 hp gain/.... Dyno's are great, but how's it in the real world??? Thanks.

Brought home 09 m8, installed egt's, 2 rides established 1230-1240 degrees
stock, plugs and wash perfect.
Installed slp system and bdx airbox, runs 150 degrees cooler loads up on
bottom, plugs show rich.
Need to install boondocker box to pull away fuel on bottom
Seems to pull harder through mid with slp.
exhaust and airbox deffinately make it feel lighter.
We run 2-8000' here .
Runs rich at my property at 1100'.
Must depend on fuel pressure?

No box needed at sea level?

where are you seeing that no box is needed at sea level? slp's website still says 3000 ft and up. ???

SLP setup on the '09 M8 is awesome. I ride with 2 '09 M10's and an '09 M8 with the SLP setup. I've rode the '09 D8 with SLP setup and the '09 XP with SLP setup also. M8 takes the prize in the 800's. Cat left a lot of untapped power in that motor that SLP found with the pipe. We ride from 7k to 10k feet. You don't need the BD box on the M8. D8 and XP ran good, they just didn't get the same kick the M8 did with the pipe. (D8 with the airbox, clutching and can only ran the same as the D8 w/complete pipe setup). SLP kit on the M8 was money well spent! As for the D8 and XP, I'd opt for a lightweight can, clutching and a vent kit. SLP single didn't give the boost on the D8 and XP as it did on the Cat.

I read the .PDF instructions and it does say no need for fuel even with an airbox mod. It doesn't say anything about elevation though so I would be careful below 3000' as that is what it says in the description of the product. Just because they left out any elevation reference in the documentation doesn't mean it is good at any elevation.

No problem if you have talked with them then I would go with it, looked at the site yesterday and it still had it in the description. As you pointed out if you have a question call em, they are more than willing to give you an answer.

I think this is the way I am going to go on my new M8 even though most of my riding is between 1000 & 5000'
