there are a lot of posts regarding performance upgrades for the d8

your off to a good start with the pc5....probably one of your best bangs for your buck with the d8

i have a slp exhaust for my 09 800 but if found that to get full gains out of it be ready to play with your clutching.....that really wakes the sled up. the exhaust will sled quite a bit of weight and the throttle responds is notaciably increased as well. and of course it sounds great :)

Who doesn't like a pipe. Close to 10hp gain with a slp single and PCV combo.
I'm running dynotech's maps on my sleds with the PCV and SLP singles.

Have a '08 RMK 600 Cfi w/ 155 track fully stock. What kind of real world gains could I expect from the SLP Pipe/Can? Would it be noticeable?

I'm not sure what the gain is on a 600, but a pipe will always do wonders for a 2 smoker. Just keep an eye out for a nice used pipe and can... snatch it up. You gotta let that baby ring!

I would put a camo extreme on it, all I have done to my sled is put a slp can, geared it down to a 19/42 and put a camo extreme. it flat out ripps

I just spoke to JIm at Dynotech and subscribed. He tells me a pwr commander 5and his stock map will add 10 hp to a stock sled. (wow) A SLP pipe and his map for the pcv will add another 6 hp, for 16 total. However, that last 6 comes at the exp. of a pipe, about $600.00??? So the most bang for the buck is just the pcv. Another 16 sure sounds tempting though. I trying to decide how much to spend!

16 total between the two seem high, but i guess its all what you base the stock HP at. If stock is 146, then its correct. Jims PC5 map with the full SLP exhaust run 162HP. I ran the 157hp map for stock exhaust and it ripped. I just ordered a full SLP and will run the 162 map this year hopefully with the same great results.

I paid 400 plus shipping for my SLP single last year. 18 bucks to ship it from back east.
350 seems like a good deal.

anyone run a boondocker with an slp pipe and can?

i have a boondocker and slp pipe and can to go on my 09 d8 and was wondering if anyone out there was running the same setup?

isnt it 19/41 stock? does changing to 19/42 make that much of a difference?
i have a pcv and slp single but have not changed the gearing tri-city did my clutching

Yes. 09 Dragon was/is 19/41. I'm still running stock. Haven't seen the need to change.

SLP twins, new head, and exhaust porting will put you ahead of most 800's in a drag race. Only run this set up at 6000 feet + or be prepaired for race gas.
