SLP Nose Plate for Pro RMK

SLP offers a nose plate to prevent snow from coming into the front of the sled in powder. They claim the snow ingested in through a gap at the nose melts, collects in the bottom, melts and becomes a heavy block of ice. Are any of you using this plate? If not, does the block of ice cause any damage to parts? Or is this a nonissue?

SLP has great products...they also have great marketing...know the difference

Agreed, I have never seen an over ingestion of snow in that hole.

Agreed. I run the plate but dont know that it made a difference.

I don't use the plate and I have never noticed a large accumulation of snow in there. If it does get in it just melts. It won't ever become ice until you shut the machine off for a while and by that time everything has run out the bottom.
