Slp mohawk skis

That's a tuff call. They both are great ski's. The Mohawks do have a more aggressive feel, making it have a little more steering effort IMO. But with a couple of rides on them now I think they do hold a side hill a little better , not much but a little. I also think the Mohawks float a little better than the powder pros. Only do side I have is you have to lighten the front end up quite a bit more than I would like. But I am getting use to it.

The powder pros work really well though with the pro. Again IMO, I ran my powders pros for 2 seasons and never once though man I with this ski would do this or didn't do that.

Sorry not much help. I know!!

Powder pro- predictable-effortless-cheaper
Mohawk- more aggressive-floats better- side hills better

So which ones do you prefer and ride?
I’m guessing you are still running the Mohawks, are you going to stick with them or go back to Powder Pros?

thx

I am going to finish the year out for sure on the Mohawks, I am a true believer in giving products a chance to work and not just try it and when it's not perfect move on. It's has worked very well for me ;). The Mohawks are night and day difference already and I am sure I can get them even a little better with acouple more rides. (And they aren't cheap so I might as well try)!!

thanks
how are you mounting the ski; in the forward or back hole on the bracket?
also, do the brackets come with new slp rubber bumpers or do you just reuse the stock ones?

I am 100% commuted to the mohawk!

I had a really good day with some technical lines through steep terrain and tight trees and not once did I feel like the skis were going to wash out or were going to try and send me shooting up the hill. They were very predictable and I am actually starting to like how flexible they are. They seem to really soak up the ruts when you are side hilling or need to cross over someone else's rut or uneven terrain.

i tried to find polaris fit brackets for them locally yesterday. nobody has them in stock. :face-icon-small-con i would have loved to get the swap done last night so i could ride them today. it dumped last night. best i can do is have them overnighted tomorrow and give them a shot later this week.:frown:

finally go my mohawks swapped onto the pro from my pro climb.
mounted them in the front holes.
i noticed the skis made the sled waaayyy more tippy, running them in the 40” stance position. steering effort was minimal.

1/2 way through the ride, i moved the skis back to the rear hole. immediately i noticed steering effort was increased (i don’t like), but the sled was not as tippy.

i am going to try the skis back in the front hole and widen the stance to the 41” position. hopefully this will be the best of both worlds.

I finally got to try a set of Mohawks last weekend. We typically been running grippers and powder Pros. I really like the Mohawks. Didn't notice any negatives.

By the way we do have mounts in stock as well as complete mohawk packages.

KLYANT, I did not notice the tippy issue at all on my 13 Pro. I am running them in the narrowest position and in the front holes. I also cut the outside edges as shown in an earlier picture on this thread. This makes the skis work better in some snow conditions based on before and after comparisons. The more aggressive center keel and outside edge keels definitely hold better than the Gripper skis.

Kylant.

Keep the ski'a narrow and loosen the front shock spring just a little bit at a time. It will add ski pressure as you loosen it and not make it as tippy. Keeping it narrow will help with getting the sled on edge easier.
