slp helix's

Just wondering who has tried the slp helix and what kind of results you have seen. With the porting package they recommend going to a 44/36 and I was wondering if anyone else has tried this setup. I know tm8 has on here with pretty good results, just looking for some more opinion. After I had my 09 M8 ported my rpm was 8200-8300 at 8000ft with my cat 70's so I went to speedwerx 71.5 and now I get 7950-8000 rpm at 8000ft. I may go back to the 70's and was thinking about changing out the helix to try and help the flat feeling topend power that the lighter weights give me. Just looking for some opinion on helix's.

its a 44/36 helix multi-angle so its going to be the SAME 36 when climbing as you likely have now. the only difference will be it shifting up faster off the bottom... it has a short 44* portion of the helix too, so it gets into the 36 faster...

Doesnt the flat feeling mean your at the end of your power band??? Does that mean nothing left to gain by getting more rpms?? I am still learning clutching, What does what and so forth. I recently went with lighter weights now i turn 7900-8000 man what a diff. Next i am going to try 36 helix just to see what it does. 06 m7.

I have a 42/36 SLP helix but frankly, I don't have a lot to compare it to.

I think a 44/38 might be better after porting. A little more load on the initial take off and a little more load than stock on the shift out. I like the higher initial angle helixes that help load the motor quickly. You can also adjust your shift speed with helix angle.

That's why I loved the Shockwave adjustable helix so much on my Yamaha. As the elevation increased and the sled inevitablly lost power, I could just turn down the helix angle so I was hitting my RPM peak.

I see they make a shockwave for Arctic Cats, I have to ownder if they are available for Cats with the Diamond drive?
