Was lurking the SLP site and saw that they've got pipes and cans for 2011 800's up...any other brands anyone has run across?

They have them in their catalog but, they are not available yet. I bet it will be late November.

if we are lucky. my guess is first of the year. that way i'm not disappointed when its not out until mid dec.

They are saying that they "WILL" have a pipe/can combo...

SLP:This new chassis is set to be a real winner with its lightweight design. As soon as we have one of these new sleds, we will be striving diligently to work our pipe design magic. We believe that we will be able to develop and manufacture a pipe for this model that will provide a good weight savings with a healthy increase in horsepower and torque. Watch for more information on this product.

Heres a pic of the new Skinz Protective gear (SPG) Ultra Q muffler in the PRO chassis.

FYI, we finished our silencers for the 2011 Polaris 800. Sound test is based on the stationary tests that is currently being used.

4.1lb weight savings.

Super-Q 90 Db
Ultra-Q 87 Db

I think HPS will be a touch lighter and sound way the heck better. They just seam to know how to make a sled sound good.. I wish SLP could make a pipe/muffler combo like the good old days before there 2007 era or whatever era there on now crap.....

I know the hp gains that SLP had in the past are not there (currently +-6) but I had a Single with the Y-Pipe and can and was very happy with it. 1600 Flawless miles and I never had the rpms drop like others would after a hard pull.

If I didn't have to buy a CamoExtreme or 2.4 for this new Assault that would definetly be a considerable option along with the PC-5 depending on how these new Pros are coming out of the box.

What i was trying to say is how the old SLP combo's would sound. These day's the stock sled sounds better then there era tech. does... And to be honest the last two sets of SLP pipes I had ran alot better super hot, meaning you had to make a couple of hard pulls before it ran better and then you didn't know but, to be fair it could have been the fueling or lack of a pcIII. My last sled had a SLP pipe on it and then I went to a turbo so I have no idea if it was fueling or the SLP pipe... But I do have a HPS can on the wifes 600 rmk shift and it sounds unreal in a hard pull.. Don't think it helped much in the HP dept. but it was alot lighter and it sound frinkin awsome.... Just my thoughts on that..

Ya I'm all for a sled with a little grunt! On the other hand if it is properly setup and handles the way I want it, somebody coming up on a track through the trees long after you're gone and thinking,"WTF...how the eff did they go there and to where" is appealing too...!:face-icon-small-hap

Not sure if the sound loss was a design or simply SLP starting tone it down a bit due to sound restrictions in some areas but the added mid-range and throttle response sure is nice.

i want weight savings and sound out of a pipe kit, ran SLP pipe set last two years on the 800CFI no fuel controller, ran good but sounded fairly normal. the old twin pipes used to howl through the trees.

After a long day with a loud can my head starts to hurt. I love the sound of a piped good running sled just like most here, but it can't be good for the ears long term :face-icon-small-blu
