SLP clutching?

I'm wondering if anyone is running a clutch set by SLP in a 09 m8. I wrote them an email and asked them for a kit form 6-9000. Has anyone else done this and if so how is it working? Has anyone run there MTX weights with the heavy heal? does it work good? Thanks.

I now have their MTX weights in my primary but, I haven't got a chance to try them yet. PM Iluvtofly on the forum. He has them and likes the weights very much. That's why I decided to try them as well.

I ran there kit in my SLP performance package and it worked great. I had the 8-10K kit which included a 160/310 primary spring, 74G MTX weights with no weight added, 44/36 helix with the stock orange cat spring. I also had them balance both my primary and secondary clutch. Mine does have the slp pipe and porting but I was very happy with there clutch setup and it pulled amazing. I am taking my secondary up to them this week to have rock rollers installed. SLP does high quality work and I have been very happy with there setup.

wtf. i have 09 m1 and i called yesterday and they told me i needed 74 mtx with 44/36 helix for that same elevation. is something backwards here?

The M8 with porting, pipe, and head mod have the same clutching setup as the stock M1000. They even run the same fuel settings on the power commander III fuel box.

well what about m1 with slp y, single pipe, and can? and intake...is that still the same clutching 74g mtx and 44/36 helix?

That's a question I cannot answer but I would say no. With the increased power you should be able to pull more weight.

the m8 pulls higher rpm and is a snappier motor, you have to take it into consideration when clutching.

so no one has any suggestions or a direction in where to go for proper clutching for this set up. i know there are a good amouht of m1's with the slp pipe kit and it seems the ones who bought the slp clutching to go with it dont like it. so if anyone would like to share some type of clutching success for this set up and 10000 ft of 0-3000 ft it would be much appreciated!

i ran the full slp setup for there pipe it works but needs help in my case anyway(better than stock). but I did talk to a guy that loved it and one of his friends said his sled is the best running m1000 in his area. I think I can run a little steeper helix and it needs more clutch weight in the middle. I like the heel but not the rest of it. I will be trying something completely different this year and will have to see how it compares.
