Free for who? Everything costs $$, starting with the computer you are looking at right now....should that be free?
Everyone bags on Obama for wanting to give everyone something for nothing....welfare, medical coverage, etc....and I agree. But when we have to pay $9.99 a year for this, it's suddenly a different story....everyone wants it to be something for nothing.

OK Brew, I really didn't post to get into a pissin' match with you. As a matter of fact. I really don't have a problem paying a bit for SW.

That being said, YOU ARE DELUSIONAL!

Name me 10 websites you pay to use on a daily basis... better yet, name me 5. That is what I meant by the internet being free; Not the cost of the computer, ISP charges, electricity - be realistic in your argument. A homeless guy in New Orleans could visit SW, or ALMOST any other site on the web if he wanted to...

My Point was... the more sites we agree to pay for, the more that will follow suit - until we have to pay for every site on the web that we wish to visit. Are you willing to do that? I'm... well... KINDA NOT!

If we can circumvent it, I will be much happier...

I enjoy a good debate. MtnDoo, at least you have some reasoning and information to go along with your response. I just don't understand the guys that stay here just to make trouble and slow things down, have virtually NO sled related info to share, and just jump up and down stomping their feet that they don't want to pay $10/year.
And I thought the Obama alalogy was relevant considering the amount of passion people on here put out to oppose that type of thinking....then get upset when they have to pay for what they get here.

Just means that we will be on our own hardware at long last, and that I can begin the process of turning on all the promised features.

That is my point. the PEOPLE made this site what it is. If the PEOPLE simply do not log on and all go to BCR or whatever free site they choose, then BCR will be the place that Snowest once was....quick and easy with no drama I joined up over there months ago and am surprised at the lack of hits that site gets....you can hear crickets over there. Why not just get everyone to go there INSTEAD of here....the only difference is the address.
Personally I think the biggest problem with Snowest lately has been from a handful of people that are not willing to pay the $10 a year to keep these "invaluable connections".
The slow servers need to be upgraded....it costs $$. Seems simple and fair enough, what would be a better option?? Keep it SLOWest? Make only certain people pay? Close the site? JMO-

i dont have a problem paying a fee for this site(if everything is on the up and up and it took its original shape back???)... what i do have a problem with is the way this site is being run!!!! this site has, very much so, adopted the obama adminstrations policy... silence their critics!

oh yeah, you cant exactly say you are being totally objective about the situation as you have something to gain or loose in proportion to the popularity of this site... or any other site for that matter!
