Slime?

never tried. maybe I should get one for my atv. rear tires keep getting flat and cant find the leak.

Ive never used it in my car or truck but will never go without it in my fourwheelers. It has saved me numerous times from having flat tires

it SO doesn't work like that. and if you put it in your tire you CAN'T repair by patching it. if the slime doesn't work you have the toss your tire in the garbage.

IMHO, slime works well as long as the tire is rotating. If left sitting for weeks on end, then the slime filled holes tend to start leaking (if the holes dont happen to end up at the bottom when the machine is parked), at least on my ATV.

I went away from using slime and I just attempt to find every hole as it happens and plug it. I carry the plug kit and air pump on long rides and have aired up the tire a few times using a bicycle hand pump.

I did use slime in one tire where I absolutely couldn't find the leak after multiple attempts with soapy water with tire off the atv. I think the carcass has a general leak but the slime seems to have slowed it down greatly where I don't need to worry about it for a month. Now these tires are about worn out so it won't matter once I replace them.

I've plugged tires that have had slime in them and no problem. Atv tires that is.

Actually, speaking of atv tires, I think it is a waste of money to take a tire in to have a shop put a patch on it due to the low pressure nature of atv tires.

I suppose if it is a larger hole where it may take like 4 strands or more of cord to plug, then maybe a patch.

If we're talking car or truck tires used on road, I wouldn't consider slime unless it is last resort. I wouldn't plug unless it is last resort.
