Slidekick ice scratchers

havent tried the new ones but if there are any thing like the old they suck i was better off draging my feet. waste of money. went back to the spring style.

For the 10 bucks in parts that it takes to throw a set together I'm going to give it a shot. Eric

PRODUCT UPDATE:
So far all our customers (mainly those in the Dakotas) that have had the opportunity to ride this season :)say the new Slidekicks are working great, although with the lack of recent snowfall they are considering the carbide tips so they dont wear down quite as quickly due to the excessive use. There have been no reports of them inadvertantly hopping up onto the rails or not creating spray.

Bottom line is this...last years Slidekicks sucked in general but got better through the season.
-Changes in design were made to better the performance but it was finally realized that the main fault was the type of cable and the coating on it.
-We made the switch...tested it till we ran out of snow, continued testing it on dirt behind the truck, and the result is what we are offering to you this season.
-This years Slidekicks is the best we can offer, period.

-We are honoring all warranty claims from last season with as prompt service as we can afford, thanks to all for your patience.

-Due to a high demand for the Slidekicks to come standard with carbide tips, we are considering offering this package next season at a little over $100 cost.

Please give us a try. Thank You for reading.

I bought 3 sets at haydays this year and the comparison between last year's model and this years was night and day. The cable on this year's model is WAY stiffer than last year (at least according to the display they had going at haydays.) Never had last year's model on my sled, but the demo and improvement they had was impressive to the point I got them for our sleds. Someone in our group is always retarded and backs up with them down...

The new ones with the carbides are very nice and have much more tension to the snow. These guys replaced mine from last year on my word that they were not holding up. Simply put - their customer service is awesome and they want the customer to be happy. I now have several sets and all my riding buddies are using them also. You won't be disappointed with the new version on sale now. I highly recommend this product.

So are "this years" considered to be the ones with the dark covering? I bought a set at Expo West earlier this year with the additional carbide tips. They have the clear covering but the do have the additional bend from the earlier ones. I was just installing them on my sled to try for this year. Are they going to end up being a problem? If so what kind of a deal can I get for exchange for new ones?

Slidekicks replaced my 1st gen sliders at no charge, A++ service. I was not really displeased with the old ones, they would occasionally bounce back up on the rail. They still got the job done for my sled. They did put a few dings in the rails though. The new design looks like they fixed the issues. I would never go back to spring steel scratchers.

1 thing to remember when installing them, you do have to make sure that when you tighten the bolts, they are fricken tight, so that they don't rotate back.

I saw their new stuff in Salt Lake and it looks great. It is less expensive in the long run to buy their stuff because you will not ruin it when you forget you are using them and pull the sled backward.

Now that they are really working well, they are a good choice.

TTT...Does anybody know?

Need snow to know!!!!

I put the 2nd generation on both of my sleds 2 weeks ago, still no snow, which sucks. As soon as we get the white stuff, I'll post.

I bought a set last Febuary and ran them about 900 miles on my D8, just left them down all the time, the sled ran cool all year and I have almost no wear on my hyfax. The tip show some wear but I should be able to sharpen them with a file. I think they are great.

Thank You, everyone, for the great input about our product whether positive or negative.
We, too are thrilled that so far this year's design is working great and is proving itself in the field as it should.

:)Again, thanks to everyone for their patience with our struggles to perfect the design, we realize no design is perfect and that there is always room for improvement and that your valuable input makes our product assessments much more accurate.

Think Snow!!!

I just installed them on mine and to be honest, I dont see how they will kick up much snow as they dont have much spring to them to dig in like the old fashion spring style. Ive only been in powder since i have installed them but will try them out on the hard pack and let you know.

First ride with the new Slidekicks this past Sun. Rode in a foot of fresh snow so I left them up on the rails. Track wore through the coating after one ride. I guess we'll see how they hold up with a section of coating missing. Sitting in the shop, there looked to be enough room between the track and that section of cable, but I guess bouncing down the trail parts flex enough to allow contact.

I lost a tip of one of mine last year on the first ride, I was pizzed but figured out that they needed to have locktite and be really tight, both at the tip and where they bolt to the rail. Left the other one on and it worked fine. They don't throw as much as spring type scratchers but seems to be enough as long as it is not really icy. The key was making sure the angle in the mounting point stayed straight down. I would by another set for sure, in fact hoping that trinity taz will send me another tip for my other scratcher......
