Wow some of you guys have no respect for other peoples property. Regardless of what the laws were there we wrong they have made a bad situation And made sledders and gun owners look bad one more for the greenies. And really wtf guys you would try to take a mans gun on his own property and beat his ***!? Try that sh!t in MT with all the life time NRA people around here like myself and you would be in the ground.

I have massive respect for others private property. You just do not understand the situation. It would be like you trying to explain the position of an NRA member to an eastern Canadian lol. Good Luck.

you are right, it makes both the sledders and the gun owners look bad. which I am both and I would say many people on this site are as well.

What should we take away from this? I hope others will keep this footage to themselves in the future........

I think he should have to pay for the damage to the sled. Aren't headlights pricey, not to mention possible hood damage too?

I saw the rm map for that area and the acreages are so close together I don't know why anyone would think thats a good place to ride.

Both were definitely in the wrong. The kick in the hood would have gotten a stern response from me, but riding on private land is a big no no too.

Think about it. Had something happened to the riders, the land owner can be held accountable. Ya, it's stupid, but that's the way it is. The best thing that could happen in this country is for the land owners responsibility to be completely eliminated in cases involving trespassing. If you're there without permission, it's totally your responsibility regardless of what happens. If you run across that upturned harrow, or that piece of unstable equipment lands on you, too bad. You shouldn't have been there.

Your right, it is completely different and not sure how SK gets away with that. I don't care who ya are though, if it is my land, and I own it. Know body has the right to be on it without my permission, and I sure as heck should not be required to post signs every 50 feet around 10-100 acres to protect myself ha. First I have heard of this scenario, that is nuts!

It happened in my province.

You can ride on all private farm land in my province unless posted no trespassing.

You cannot show a gun or point a gun at anyone here with out consequence.

Its completely different around here and anyone not from the area will not understand.

The sledders were technically not doing anything wrong as long as they wernt riding passed no trespassing signs. This guy was completely out of line and i hope will get charged.

Here in Nebraska there is (at least there was in the last 15 years or so) a law protecting landowners from liability claims from people on their land whether they had permission or not. If the landowner charges a fee to be on the land, that law doesn't apply because then the landowner assumes some liability to ensure it is safe.

That is what was conveyed to a large group of us during at a hearing in the state capitol regarding riding areas for OHV users. The legislators did say that the law had yet to be tested in court though.

This may not be the case here, but to often dedicated ROW's are on private land and to many land owners believe if they stop access across their precious piece of dirt they can control 100's or 1000''s of acres behind it.I have been in many shouting matches and have almost come to blows a few times with greedy people like this.Any control freak personality is going to presume guilty until proven innocent .Did these guys chase his ipacas through the fence likely not, did these guys run over his cat likely not has this happened in the past, possible.I believe the land owner could have handled the situation better than he did,I mean c'mon these guys are snowmobilers!

If you read the article, the guy wasn't on his land. He was also technically trespassing by confronting the sledders on his neighbors land. It was uncalled for. He was pissed at sledders in general and took it out on those guys. I'm from Sask and it is LEGAL and accepted to ride on private property. It's not like the sledders were driving on his lawn, they were simply riding down the edge of a road. Big deal.
