Woke up this morning to find 3 boss seats, 2 nitrous bottles, an a/f gauge, prefilters, smashed filterpods, clutch cover and belt stolen from sleds in our group. All while sleds were sitting in front of the motel.

I suggest to you guys in or on their way up to albany lodge to keep sleds in enclosed trailer at night under lock and key...if not then pull off seats at night and keep them in your room.

Meat,

Did this happen at the lodge in town, in the parking lot, or in Laramie? Crazy if it happened in Albany. Not good.

I had the wife's sled messed with last year at Albany in the parking lot, now I use a camera on my truck to run constantly while i'm not there recording to my laptop, let em touch my stuff again, and I will make sure they have a visit from the local popo....peace to all, and just 18 more hours to wait......

yeeeouch...I pitty dah fool.

Sux to have to do that but would be worth having the tape in event of something happening.

yea, sux that a person has to do it, but it's not that hard to rig up, and it works wonderfully. I haven't had anything on camera since, accept my trailer. When I park beside the little Parking lot hill I usually get some good video of ppl flying around in the lot, but that's just fun to watch when I get home..... It's rather easy to rig up also, cause I don't drive a new truck with the reverse cameras or anything. If you have reverse cameras on your vehicle, it's really easy!!! I guess my profession pays off in some ways!!

If you ever find who those losers were you need to post their names so they can be taught with a beating. that is just complete BS! I am good for a few knockout punches.

sorry to hear! hope you get your stuff back!

things like this started in larmie & now are moving up the mountain. of course albany lodge has some shaddy employees too i don't know if i would trust all of them...

WOW I would love to catch cowards like this in the act. what is with this area, seems like its grand central for all the sledding thugs.

meat.. thats bullchit man.. If you want.. we could rig up some sleds with alarms and just sit up there and wait for them to strike again.. this time with a little surprise for them.. :D

With this going on and the complaining about the parking in the other thread...sounds like this is fast becoming a no-win situation.

no somebody just needs to control this, tow the phuggers that can't park and knock the crap out of the stealing losers! then word gets out that this $hit does not fly up there!

That's terrible. For years we've always trusted that the Snowies was a safe place.

Last year our group had a bunch of 5-6 gallon fuel cans, full, stolen from our trailer in Laramie. They sliced tie-down straps to get them. Comparatively speaking that was minor but it was a wakeup call for our trusting ways. The Laramie police told us this type of activity, including taking parts from vehicles is fairly commonplace these days.

I'd like to hear more details on the onboard cameras.

I have a wireless alarm/siren I may pull out of my camper and install on the sled trailer.

Maybe we need to run our own "sting" operation. Put out some bait and observe from a distance.

Could just take license plates off when parked in town, then you might be from WY, might not. Times are tough for a lot of people. This is happening a lot of places, not just WY. Did you let the police take a report?

Thats BS!!! I keep hearing more and more of this happening and it makes me want to stay home. But since that is NOT an option, lets get more info on that camera and go kick some @ss!!

That is terrible- dont they have a web camera? If not they should

Yes they have a web camera.
THe picture isn't good enough to actually ID anybody (I don't think). It was intended to just let people log on and see how the snow looks around the lodge.

You could always send an e-mail and ask to re-align the camera to look at the parking area around the hotel to watch the sleds.

I don't think theft is a big problem up at the lodge. You hear about it maybe once or twice a year.
There has been and will always be lowlifes that will steal stuff regardless of the precautions taken by the owner of the stuff stolen or the owner of the lodge.

Thats well put. It is not Albany Lodges fault as they have catered exclusively to the snowmobilers and they came. Unfortunately the vermin come with them. It happens everywhere massive groups of people gather.:(

Sorry to hear about your stuff. Thanks for the warning. I'll hold it into consideration when were up there. To steal something from the parking lot is brave but in front of the hotel room takes balls that clank or pure stupidity.
