Went to Coalville then through Upton to where the plowing of the road ended. The state corner stone was right where we turned (utah/Wyoming) and parked.

That's a mountain and that's a tower..

but that's not Tower mountain at the point where Lake Creek Trail, Center Canyon Trail, Mill Hollow Trail and Current Creek Trail all converge. Accessable from Daniels Summit, Heber or Noblets..

Marked on the map as a radio tower at 10,216 Ft about 1 1/2 miles north-northwest of Current Creek Peak.

So where did you say that mountain with a tower was?

I could be wrong, I know from the top where the tower is located you can see Kings Peak.

No, you're not wrong.. natural to call a mountain with a tower "Tower Mountain".. the one I wrote about used to have a radio tower on it but it fell down years ago.. was a radio relay site for the forest service.

It looks like you were riding the Chalk Creek area.. I wonder if that's the new tower I heard about on Windy Peak.. I haven't seen it myself yet.

You don't have the lat-long do you?

Yes that is it, Rick the guy I was riding with called that ridge Windy Peak.
The tower did look new and the building at the base of the tower was in excellent condition.

Lots of snow up there, some spring like conditions but also lots of powder still to be found.

haha your buddy was wrong bro. Thats moffit, yamaha hill area. Stop trackin up my secret stash would ya ;) But ya, the area you rode is the second best in the state. Grandview is 1st!

Your all wrong and stay out of my backyard............:p

The actual name is (*^$@@%^&*()

Ooops forgot...........LMAO

You and your buddy weren't riding without helmets by chance? Big Sal and I may have made an appearance somewhere up there and saw two guys riding with their domes exposed

By the way.......the tower you rode by is located in Idaho :D:D:D

You're spot on Jared. Hard to believe I drove 120 miles for that photo.;)
Yeah, Idaho is the best place to ride for sure.

That is the tower and building but the snow is a wee bit deeper up there now.

Brain buckets were on all the time when riding. Are sleds were doos, the only two guys we saw were riding Polariss'.
I think we can share 40,000 plus acers.:D

This was us:

Good to know it wasn't you! I think they might have been chasing us.....but I didn't see any signs anywhere :D I was to the West a couple canyons from where you would have been! It was a GREAT day on the mountain!

Ron,

The trail to idaho is a killer.....good thing there are a few places to get gas!

Been there a few times:D. My son in law is the service tech for that tower. I just called him and he said to stay the fug away, off limits, secret government area, trespassers will be shot on sight, annexed by Idaho a while ago, must have Idaho stickers to even take a picture of it, bad snow anyway.

Seriously.....there is plenty to go around. That place is a blast, we ride up there quite a bit. That is Windy ridge/ Humpy peak. You can connect not too far past there and jump over to double hill/moffit basin and even to gold hill/whitney res. if you packed extra fuel. Early season riding is a hoot up there. The ride is a little longer now that you have to stick to the road.:beer;

Just below that tower is the place they call "avalanche hill or yamaha hill" where that boy died earlier this year.........great area, but as with any you have to travel safe.:D

I can't imagine that area when it gets alot of snow, good and bad. I can see the fun factor huge powder but on the other hand the slopes and terrain are perfect to push the avy danger to very high in alot of spots.
A cornice could let go and you would not even know below and get burried.
I think that is what happened to the kid earlier this year.

Fun spot but you have to respect mother nature.
I did need my passport to get into Idaho, whats up with that?:D
