The cummins engine is the most dependable engine, creates same power at lower RPMs. Therefore less moving materials=less wear in the long run. Now a Cummins with an allison tranny would be sweet!

really!?! i hears a rummor about this but i dont knw if it would happen but....if it did ford and dodge might as well shut down production on their trucks cause that would be one bada** truck to have...as long as it still has the Allison trany to back it up!!

Well, they still have a year left, i'm sure chevrolet can throw in some technology from the duramax that they contributed. I don't see what they're even going to put them on, if i buy one it'll be off the day my warranty expires! I agree, CAT has to be one of the most incredible diesel engines out there.

I work in road construction, and one of our CAT rollers was vandalized, operator did their circle check in the morning, then went to compact the base, probably went for about 20 minutes before she started to smoke and then overheat, i noticed it immediately and got the operator to shut it down, and we couldn't figure it out for the life of us, looking around check the oil, and then i took off the oil fill cap, and there was the problem. someone took handfuls of gravel and put it into the head. So that girl was running on gravel lubricant for 20 minutes before it even hiccuped. In the end the repair bill was up in the $34-$40 range for an entire new engine, but that's very impressive.

turned the corner too tight and ran the tires up about 4 feet up on the snowbank and rolled it. had a pro and a cat inside didnt seem to damage the sleds any. pulled the sleds out winched it over hooked back up and drove off.
