Sled siezed 1/2 mile down the trail...help

sled seized today half mile down the trail head. got the track to spin backwards and it unsiezed. Locked up one more time so towed it back to the truck. Got the sled to unsieze and fire up, rode it up the sled deck and shut it off. Any ideas of whats wrong? really weird how it will lock up then free up.
Any help will be appreciated (:

if you spin the track backwards that shouldn't even do anything to the engine, so did the engine lock up or something else? if it is the engine it is probably oil. I have found issues with the oil caps on these things. look at your oil line coming off of the oil tank if it has a big air bubble pull the line off but do not take the the cap off. if it does not run out your cap is bad

My 14 usually has that air bubble. It uses oil just fine. I figure its under warrenty.but its alway used oil

if you were just running down the road It was probably a cold seize. like stated above. but it is possible you have a crank bearing going out. if there is no damage to the cylinders or pistons you will need to check the crank. it's also a good idea to check your injectors while your in it.

FYI polaris oil caps have a big issue if you are side hilling the ball in the cap will cut off venting and not let oil into your motor. If you take your cap off and tip it alittle to where the ball moves that's how far you can tip your sled on a side hill. I've fixed this by using the rk tek oil cap it works very well and is a billet cover so no more cross threading
